Lovely hotel with an amazing location. Very clean, big room, comfortable bed, balcony with great views over the city and the valley, good buffet breakfast with fresh local products and very important- helpful, attentive and friendly staff.

It was a small boutique hotel a little old but clean. Walkable distance to the city center and hot springs. Parking on site. The owner was vert attentive to our request. We stayed only one night and liked it.

Hotel was comfortable, quiet, stylish and light. All bedrooms and public rooms have a wall/sliding doors of glass to take in the sub-tropical view down the 'valley' - and framed by palms at the hotel.  Lots of comfortable sitting and lounging areas inside and out (all with the view). Pleasant bar. Pool/snooker room (no view!). Swimming pool was larger than expected from the picture - small but adequate to swim in a circle.  Good breakfast: standard range, but all good quality and fresh, with some changes day-to-day. Buffet constantly topped up. Bedroom, unlike most hotels, had two comfy (and stylish) arm chairs, as well as balcony furniture. Firm, but not hard, bed. Good wifi. (Best we had in the Azores). Parking at hotel (mid-May) fine. Easy walk (10 mins) to restaurants, along attractive residential street. Friendly and pleasant staff. All in all, loved it. Marketing types would call it a bijou, boutique hotel!

We paid under 100€ per night (including breakfast), which made us expect average hotel, but there was a huge clean room waiting for us. The landscape from the balcony was very nice.Btw the meals in hotel's restaurant are big. I liked that.

Amazing view from the room, quiet and peaceful. Dinner was amazing as well. Shame that breakfast was not included in the price and was not very good.

A friend and I were exploring The Azores in Sept 2014 - we stayed in this lovely little pensione style hotel for the two days we spent exploring Furnas. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful with general information about the town, arranging a taxi tour of the nearby tea factory and even sending us on our way with a picnic basket of food as we were leaving the hotel so early on our final morning, we weren't able to have breakfast in their dining room. I found the hotel to be quite standard of all the hotels/pensiones we stayed in on four of the islands during our two weeks in The Azores - clean, well maintained (though it's another country people - if you want glass and chrome and glitz - remain wherever you already have that) and comfortable stays that are quite pleasant. I would certainly return to this hotel - very impressed with the service.

Excellent value for money in a great little town!

The staff are great and very friendly. The location is also wonderful as it is only a 10min wall from the hot springs in dona Beija and terra nostra. The hotel is nice and clean!

Bijou, boutique hotel with stunning views

We stayed here one night while touring Furnas. Such a cute place on a hill, overlooking the town. Great pool and a decent (typical European ) breakfast for 7 euros.  There is no air con so we kept our door open a bit which was a bit noisy but our friends had their balcony door closed and they said they were fine temperature wise. It’s an older hotel but very cute IMO. I recommend staying for one night while touring the area!

It's a nice place, situated very conveniently at the top edge of Furnas.
It's a great value for money. Though not a brand new it's a decent one. Relatively clean,
The only major improvement could be preposition the lady who serves as a receptionist. We never so her smiling or greeting first during our stay. She always looked bored by our presence and not willing to help, let alone been flexiblel.
The other part of the staff, including in the restaurant, was very good.

This hotel features an amazing panorama into the Caldeira of Furnas. The rooms are old fashion style and not very soundproof but the vista totally makes up for it. I visited in high season and there were only very few guests. The receptionist was doubling as a cook and a nightguard so don't expect extensive service. The swimming pool was unusable. The breakfast was just ok. Make sure you arrive before 10pm on your day of arrival as the reception closes down.

the owner could not have been any more accommodating. even though we arrived early we were offered a complimentary breakfast. she helped us find a birding guide and gave us touring info even more so because the english speaker at the tourist bureau was on vacation.The location was quiet yet close to town. the breakfast was adequate. it was damp because of the weather so a bit moldy smelling in the lobby but not the room. a good choice.
