Residencial O Alentejo is located near the centre of Evora,a few hundred yards away from most of the main sights. The rooms are cosy and quite large for the price. We paid 38 euros for a night, and that includes air-con, tv, ensuite bathroom. The rooms are quiet despite being so close to the centre. The owner is a lovely lady who is always happy to help, and on the whole keeps the place very neat and clean. The shower can be a troublesome beast, but it always worked after some fiddling. Overall it is a great low-cost place to stay near the centre of Evora.

We spent 3 nights at the o Alentejo. It is a family run hotel, in which I really liked the decor - traditional painted wooden furniture. The owner  was friendly, although did not speak English too well. Fortunately, she speaks French, so we could communicate. 
It was clean, in very good location. We were allowed to park our car in the street in front of the hotel, but found a free place only for one night, the other nights we left the car outside the city walls, which was not too far.

We found the room to have quite a bit of space.  The decorations were very traditional, hard wood floors.  The place is well taken care of.  Location is fine...our room looked out on Rua de Serpa Pinto, a rather busy street, but we didn't hear any noise in the night.  You have to park outside the walls of the city, but the walls are actually super close to this hostal.  Bed was not super comfortable, but all in all, this place is good value for the money.

Great Position, Nice Rooms, Lovely owners.

Simple but cosy and friendly

A nice spot with traditional charm

The location is great on center of Evora.
Also i like the beds and i think its a decent room with AC, television and a closet.
I stay in second floor and i didnt have hot water, also poor water flow in shower.
Some person left the television until 3:20 a.m. so it was very difficult to sleep as it has some noise.
Also theres an antique scent in air, that i think its not nice.
No elevator, so i have to take some heavy bags for two floors.
The floor its in wood so it cracks.
No wifi, no breakfast or meals.
The lady on the recepcion is very lovely and helpful.
It was cheap, but i dont recommend.

Good location, cheap, bad service

The only good thing that I can write about is the location. But everything in Evora is relatively close, so it is rather a plus for the city, rather than for the hotel :)

Horrible place ... Our check-in began by carrying up 23-kg bags through 2 flights of stairs in an old building without elevator. Ok, we could have seen in the pictures, so we don't mind to be the ones to blame. Receptionist - woman around 60 year old - didn't speak any languages except Portuguese, so if you speak English or German - não percebo nada - is the phrase you will be welcomed with :) further on, the hotel has no hot water, which constitutes a wonderful bonus as well :) and if unluckily you want to use the toilet during the night, you will wake up the whole house, as the floors creak quite loud! If these Spartan conditions haven't frightened you enough yet and you still look forward to spending a memorable time in this hostel, be sure to follow the owner's recommendations concerning a restaurant where your memorable holiday may be completed with some food accordingly: grilled bacalhau/cod as disgusting as I had never had before anywhere else.
