I stayed for a couple of nights and the view in the top floor is wonderful. The room is a bit small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is rather simple,  but the host is very kind. The price is quite affordable

Quiet and clean place with  kind host

Small room but with a great view and very comfortable. A nice decoration, attentive to the details. Very nice dining room to be. Friendly and helpful staff. It does not have a lift so you have to climb the stairs (which was no problem at all).

To return

First of all, it doesn't have an elevator. Partly, the rooms leave much to be desired: the walls are made of paper and you can hear everything about the adjacent rooms. When I say everything is TODO. The bathroom smells very bad of plumbing and a terrible noise every time you turn on the light. Also, the room is cold due to the small radiator it has. Yes, if you want to be 100% disconnected this is your hotel because you have no wifi to get to the room or phone.

There is no going back.

We have stayed for a couple of nights and we really enjoyed the overall experience at this B&B. On arrival, they upgrade our room to a much larger room with a fantastic view of the city. Good location and very friendly staff. We will definitely book again here. Many thanks

Cosy and homely

We've been this weekend.The receptionist/super-nice owner as well as the wife and child.Small but cozy rooms.Everything very clean.The newly renovated bathroom and the room as well.No elevator.Breakfast buffet with a little of everything but no big thing.

Excursion to the snow

When we arrived at this hotel, it was a small cozy hotel (only 24 rooms) in an old building (which is attached to a church). The location was the most central (if you can say a small town in a very small town in the second floor). However, this hotel was a small but functional bathroom with a small but functional bathroom: we slept without a car, we stayed in a cheese and cheese shop, but it is possible to stay on the hotel's shelves, because the hotel is very quiet and comfortable.

It's a nice little hotel.

We went out for a weekend with friends, but when we got back early in the morning after a day of snow we found that the bathroom drain was beginning to overflow with sewage and waste. Seeing that it was not working and after much insistence they moved us to a room on the second floor of a slightly higher quality, where we could hear the sounds of the boiler, in the morning after showering we discovered that the bathroom was infested with ants and our necessities too. The proper breakfast but the quality of the coffee is terrible. Our friends complain about the noise and the wonderful views of a wall less than a meter from the window.

Problems with the floods.

I had a really bad experience at this place, here a small summary of what happen:

1) I was billed an additional 10 EUR just because a friend came to visit me, it stayed in my room for around 1 hour.
2) The staff didn't wanted to provide me the "Complaints book" so that I report this incident: in Portugal they are obliged to do so if a customer request it. It was around one hour until they provided me this book.
3) During the night, when returning to the residential, no one was in the reception to give me my room's key, I tried to call someone with no luck. At the end I just picked up my room's key from the key locker (imagine if was someone with bad intentions...)
4) The water wasn't hot at 19:00
5) Other smaller issues....

Conclusion: maybe I was just unlucky, but for sure I wont be staying there again; there are more places in Covilha where the prices/location aren't that different (well, I even paid more taking into consideration these additional 10 EUR...) and for sure you wont have these sorts of problems.

Avoid it!

This hotel is somewhat hidden in the small lanes. It is good in all aspects. There aren't many alternatives in the center of Covilha, and in the evening the town rather closes down too. They charged me more than the other places I stayed in North Portugal (offseason). The TV has BBC World. 
There is no public transport towards Torre.

Pleasant hotel (not much choice in Covilha)

A small hotel in a small town at the foot of the mountains. The most interesting and attractive interior of all I've ever seen. The wooden floors, the stone, the undisturbed outer walls (like in a castle), a lot of things in the room that create comfort and mood. The beds are clean, comfortable, a lot of pillows. It's a little hard to find, but for us it was more of an adventure, getting to know the locals. The staff doesn't speak English, but it also adds to the charm, we learn to speak sign language.
