Casa de Esteiro

We stayed in mid-April when weather was still cool. On arrival, we were embraced by the lush, decades-, if not centuries-old garden anchored by magnificent Eucalyptus trees that filled the space with their fragrance. The owner, Jose, a charming and most cultured man, welcomed us and his caring staff immediately attended to our needs and expectations for the stay. The apartment where we lodged was private, secluded and surrounded by the natural beauty of the gardens. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace for afternoon drinks and quiet times; the fireplace on a cold, rainy afternoon and the comfort of spaciousness and good disposition of the living spaces; a most welcome change after a couple of weeks in smaller rooms. The location is ideal, 10 min. walk to the nearest white-sand beach and 30 min. walk to the te center of the beautiful town of Caminha, such that a car (which we had for part of our stay) is nice but not indispensable, and significantly, we thought the "beauty to price" ratio was extremely favorable. Net, we spent, we spent 6 relaxing, happy and carefree days at Casa Esteiro, would gladly return to it and happily recommend it.
