Nature inn Madeira - Glamping

Very good place, surrounded by mountains. Very nice staff, and clean tents. Beautiful stars at night when there is no clouds. Jacuzzi needs small maintenaince. (However I'm not impressed with trip advisor since it doesn't let's me upload any pictures because it says "The picture you are trying to upload has more than 5MB")

We were two families with kids, in total 8 persons. The owner of the place offered to drive all of us from Funchal to the place (45 minutes instead of 3+ hours with bus and taxi) -for free. Likewise he drove me from the place to the airport after our stay, again for free. Tremendously appreciated by me. 
Nature Inn is beautifully located, and offers very nice hiking in the surrounding mountains. Breakfast - simple but with VERY good freshly made bread - is included, and for other meals there is a restaurant a few hundred meters from the Nature Inn. The place is clean, but is fighting against the rather damp climate in the area. The heater in the tipis is very much appreciated.

I've booked the canyoning activity only, therefore I'm not writing about the accommodation facilities. This company is creating a very special project which includes a variety of outdoor activities, including canyoning initiation. The team that led the activity is very talented and dedicated and helped everyone in the group to quickly gain the confidence and skill needed to perform it with safety, while appreciating the remarkable surrounding scenario (one of my personal favourites on the island). I definitely recommend that you try and I'm under the impression that, if you combine it with a stay at the glamping tents or even at the hostel, the experience will be even more pleasant.

This is a place you need to stay in order to understand what really is Madeira. In the heart of the mountains, this is the perfect spot to rest and get away from the city caos. Warm and cozy, the owner makes your stay the best as possible, and helps you with anything you need. Waking up with the river and the birds singing is a bonus, but when you get out of the 'tippie' and realize that your inside the 'lung' of Madeira, you will see that humans still can connect with nature in a modern era. You can also do a lot of activities, just ask Nuno (the owner) and he will do the best he can. We will definitly return!

Tipi were corresponding to the picture, beds were good.One really weak point is related to welcoming guests. It is badly indicated, really hard to find even with GPS. When we arrived, no one was there.We had to send an SMS to a number and where informed that there is a self check in, given a code to open common parts. During all our stay we saw no one from the nature inn. Outdoors were like abandoned. Breakfast was good, it was announced at 9am, the lady arrived at 9am and breakfast was ready only at 9.30am. As it is usually hikers going there, I d suggest the breakfast to take place earlier or at least be ready at 9 straight.

Hade to leave in the middle of the night because of the cold and leaking tent. The tent was full with mold. It was no people working there to help me,  only good think was the location,  bad service.  Love Madeira, but this will not be a place I will come back to.
