Casa Da Quinta De Vale D' Arados

Will you go to visit the wine region of Douro ("Alto Douro vinhateiro", in Portuguese)? Do you like rural tourism? If so, "Casa da Quinta de Vale D'Arados" is for sure an excellent selection for your accommodation. You will feel at home due to the kindness of all staff; Mrs. Ana, Mrs. Clotilde and Mr. André are wonderful professionals. The House is located in the middle of a vineyard; you can walk freely through the natural environment of a vineyard. If you go there just before (June - August) or during the season of grape harvesting ("víndima", in Portuguese) (August - October), it is possible to see the vineyard full of grapes (white and red grapes of different varieties). The landscape around the House is composed by round-shape hills fully covered by vineyards, forests and small houses and villages here and there - a wonderful and peaceful landscape! The House is composed by 6 regular rooms, 1 suite-room, 1 breakfast room and a living room. We have booked two regular rooms which had very good dimensions. The rooms were equipped with air-conditioning (although we prefer to open the windows). The mattresses were very comfortable and the cleaning room service were of very good quality. The breakfast was served each morning in the breakfast room with a magnificent view over the vineyards. The breakfast was composed by fresh products (coffee, milk, yogurts, breads of different types, croissants, ...) and several regional foods (local fruits, cheeses, jams, cakes, ...). An excellent way to start the morning. "Casa da Quinta de Vale D'Arados" is located in "Mesão Frio" locality. Being a rural House, it is advisable to have car to get there and to visit the surroundings. Don't worry to park teh car, because the House has a private parking. The House is located 10 minutes (by car) far from "Peso da Régua" town (usually named only as "Régua"), just in the top of a hill. From here, you can visit "Régua", "Lamego", "Vila Real", ..., which are traditional villages and towns of the "Alto Douro vinhateiro". It is also possible to go for a cruise in Rio Douro just taking a boat in "Régua". But, if you just want to have a restful day, you can stay in the swimming pool of the House. Do not forget to have a glass of Douro wine; white or red, here you will find magnificent wines. My family and me have been in "Casa da Quinta de Vale D'Arados" last August 2017. This was our first time in this Rural House, but for sure we will get back in the near future.
