It's a beautiful place in the middle of nature. It's quiet and very relaxing. The taste was great in the RV. The room is large and clear. Cleanliness and service are impeccable. Good breakfast and everything is made to make you feel at home. The ladies who host us are extremely available and friendly. The wine tasting is very good and the young lady who hosts us is very good. Let's do it again...

I loved it!

A unique experience in the interior of the Alentejo. A phenomenal retreat, where Peace is Rest is guaranteed. A team of very friendly and helpful Housewives. The Caldas heritage is not a place for activities, it is a place to relax and enjoy. Don't forget to make a wine tasting. Our was excellent!! The Oenologist of the Heritage, Eduardo, made us a tour of the cellar where he explained to us the whole process of the harvest, from the grape selection, how it is processed, stored, and from the barrel to the bottle. Obviously we made a tasting, where the description made was more a declaration of the love that Eduardo has for what he does. And he does very well. My wife and I, after a lot of hard work, and an intense review of these three months, have been very satisfying. Thank you!!

Um fim de semana estragado. Falta de transparência e gerente extremamente mal educado. Sobretaxa de 5eur por hora se o check in fosse efectuado depois das 16h da tarde (mesmo entrando num dia de semana), que só fomos avisados no dia antes da chegada, quando a reserva já estava paga e não podíamos cancelar. Adicionalmente, obrigaram nos a abandonar as instalações (incluindo espaços comuns exteriores , como a pisicina e jardim) à hora do check out no domingo, não havendo se quer abertura para dar o almoço a crianças.Acima de tudo a intransigência, a falta de profissionalismo e má educação do gerente faz-nos alertar a todos de que este é um sítio onde o hóspede não se sente bem vindo, mas como se estivesse a fazer um favor ao dono por estar ali.

Sobretaja de 5eur por hora si el check in se hiciera después de las 16h (incluso en un día laborable), política que nos fue comunicada el día antes de la llegada, cuando la reserva ya estaba pagada y no podiamos cancelar. Además, nos obligaron a abandonar las instalaciones (incluidos los espacios exteriores comunes, como la piscina y el jardín) a la hora del check out del domingo, sin dejarnos dar la comida a los niños. Sobre todo, la intransigencia, la falta de profesionalidad y la mala educación del gerente nos hace alertar a todos de que este es un lugar donde el huésped no se siente bienvenido, sino como si le estuviera haciendo un favor al dueño.

Weekend ruined.
Lack of transparency and extremely rude manager. One day before our arrival we were notified of a surcharge of 5eur per hour if the check in was after 4 pm (even on a weekday). By then, the reservation was already paid and we could not cancel. Additionally, they forced us to leave the facilities (including common outdoor spaces, such as the swimming pool and garden) at check-out time on Sunday, not even giving  us the chance to give lunch to our kids. Above all, the manager's lack of manners and professionalism, makes us want to alert everyone that this is a place where the guests do not feel welcome or valued. We felt like we were doing them a favour by being there.

Magical place, exceptional hospitality, it is impossible not to stay in this place, it is possible to buy high-quality products and wine.

A Magical Place

All five stars... the welcome from the engineer Edward and his Nero, the location, the very well-kept spaces, the huge and superb areas, the tranquility, the sympathy of the staff who take care of the space, the fantastic wines.

Repeating

From the exclusive reception and with all Anne's affection for the excellent wines, I think we stayed for about two hours in the vineyard, in detail, alone, we took a lot of questions about the process of making wine, always with absolute dedication. Congratulations to everyone involved and especially for the great work done by Anne by welcoming us with so much quality and joy.

A huge surprise.

We make one wine tour a year. This year we  spend 7 days in Alentejo and visit about 15 wineries and taste close to 100 wines. We recommend to visit Herdade da Calada to experience warm hospitality and to tast excellent wines. Ana was our wine master and she is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Or even better: book a night in their cozy hotel. You will not regret it. 

Warm Welcome and Great wines

We visited Herdade da Calada without knowing much about it, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were overwhelmed with how much we loved everything about it.

The estate is gated and feels very private. Our room was located in a large guesthouse containing 3 bedroom/bathroom suites as well as a kitchen, large dining area, and spacious living area. Everything was clean, comfortable, and inviting. Breakfast was included with our stay and was delicious each morning. There is a gorgeous pool located behind the guesthouse which we were welcome to use. All of the employees and staff we came in contact with were lovely to us during our stay. We felt like part of the family!

The estate is beautiful and well kept. We lost count of the number of different flowers and flowering plants we saw. It was a joy to just walk around and look at the scenery which also included cork trees, olive trees, a pond, cows, and obviously grape vines.

Our stay included a tour of the estate and the winemaking facilities as well as a wine and olive oil tasting. This was conducted by Ana who completely charmed us. She is a real asset to the estate, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and tasting with her.

During the days, we drove short distances to sightsee and have lunch and dinner out. But it was wonderful to return to the estate at sundown and enjoy some wine by the pool.

We have fond memories of Herdade da Calada and we plan to return and bring friends and family!

Unexpectedly wonderful!

Excellent wine with a very friendly host. Ana was fantastic- funny and perfect English. Awesome getting to see the bottling process up close, and great cheese and charcuterie while tasting. Best part is the wines were fantastic!

Great wine

Excellent winery, producing great wines. In a magnificent area in the Alentejo, you have some very comfortable rooms for accommodation. Have the opportunity to meet the director and winemaker of the Heritage, who, with his knowledge and sympathy, could take you on a tour of the property and also in the incredible world of wines.
