A site on the Portuguese Algarve. The town of Armacao de Pera has two caravan sites. Canelas is the first you come across as you enter the town travelling from Alcantarilha, (E125). The other site is closer to the town and beach. Canelas is friendly. English is spoken by all the staff. There are some caravans left on site all the year round and there is a strong Dutch presence. Recent years has seen more Motor homes using the site now that wild camping on the Algarve is being discouraged, (At last the beauty of the region might return, after being spoilt by eyesores and unregulated waste disposal by some wild motorhomers .) At Canelas some pitches are marked out others are "space as you wish". We have not been in summer but stories tell us that it can be very crowded. For "Over Wintering" it is difficult to fault.
