Golden Apartment

First of all, Sopockie apartamenty is offering accommodation on various locations through whole Sopoty, so make sure what you are booking. Our apartment was on Jerzy Haffner street in Villa Haffner. It was an old villa from 1891, beautifully restored and hosting several apartments either in vintage or modern style. We had vintage apartment for 4 persons in ground floor with separate entrance and porch. Interior style was a bit on Provence side equipped (most probably) from IKEA. There were 2 rooms in our apartment - a living room / dining room / kitchen - spacious and light, and a rather small bedroom. Kitchenette has electric kettle, electric stove, dish-washing machine, microwave oven and 4 sets of plates, glasses and cutlery. There were towels in the apartment but no soap and dishtowel. The biggest positives were: - location - 5 minutes from beach, 5 minutes from the center (Monte Cassino street), 100 -150 metres to nearest grocery shop - nice building and garden, nice and clean apartment - separate entrance and porch (for extra things and changing clothes and shoes with sand from beach - heating - parking - parking on all streets is paid so it was really good to have reserved place in the yard - good price The biggest negatives: - beds: bed in the bedroom was small (narrow) for 2 slender adults, 2 stout persons would be like fish in a can. A foldable sofa in main room which served as extra bed for 2 was too hard for comfortable sleep but it was ok. We did it so that I slept with my younger son in bedroom and my wife with the other son on the extra bed. That way we fit in nicely. For 4 adults it would be impossible to fit in. - air-flow system carry voices from other apartments! It would be really good to have apartments more sealed. We heard others speaking (sometimes understanding every word) from apartments next to us and above us. It was not too disturbing though neither to us or our kids. - parking - after all it seems that renter does not really care how many cars will stay in yard so it happened that last day when we wanted to leave early there was a car blocking our car and we had to ring to other apartments to find out whose car it is and have it removed so we could leave. It cost us at least 30 minutes. It was Sunday morning, no one was picking phone in Sopockie apartamenty office and phone recorder was full. The day before there was car parking at the street in front of yard entrance blocking all cars but it went away in the morning. Calling police would resolve this quickly, I assume. One general negative to Sopockie apartamenty, not the accommodation - we were told to return keys from our apartment in the office where we picked them but on Sunday morning (9:00) there was no one in the office, door closed, sunblinds down. No one was answering the phone and phone recorder was full. After some waiting a guy came and told us that keys are left in mail box. No one ever mentioned any office hours neither in verbal nor written form, the same for returning keys by leaving them in mail box. I can only assume that would there be some urgent problem requiring immediate actions, e.g. at night, no one would answer the phone. This is not what I imagine as responsible behaviour. Other than this our stay was nice. Just be sure that you have all information in advance and know where to return keys.
