Villa del Mar

We went to 'Villa del Mar' for a relaxing short holiday in January 2014. We were looking for a comfortable and quiet place, and it was just perfect. The hotel is just by the sea, so we could see it from our room and balcony, and we could even hear it from the bedroom when we opened the window. The hotel has only a few suites, which makes it quite unique and quiet. We had suite no. 7 which was very large, with two bedrooms and a lovely sofa place by the window, as well as a table, bathroom, etc. It was very clean and cozy. The spa is also great: there is a sauna, pool and whirlpool. I imagine it might be easily crowded but there were few people at the hotel during this time of the year, so we could enjoy the spa area very comfortably. The spa area is free and it is possible to book some massages that are obviously not free. There is also a fitness centre. Finally, we were half board (I am not sure whether we have the option not to be) and food was delicious. We usually had a brunch around 10am and dinner in the evening. The only drawback is that dinner is from 5 to 8pm so not very late, but it was ok for us. We could choose the dishes for dinner and there was a choice between meat, fish and vegetarian. Starters included soup and salad bar. We loved every single dish! I would be curious to see this place during summer, but in winter it is the perfect place to stay and relax. Niechorze was quite empty, although it seems to be expanding and it must be very popular during summer. People mostly speak German which I did not expect.
