The hostel is located in a prime location. Very close to the city centre and around a  15 min walk to Wawel castle and all the other big attractions. 

 Pro : We had a great experience before we even for there. 
- We were looking for tickets to Auschwitz and could t find them and then I realized that the hostel can help with that. The lady ( Katarina) at the Hostel was very helpful. She always replied within 48 hours. She set us up with the tour.
- the room was big and had lot of space for 3 people. The beds, linen and towels were clean. 
- there is a kitchen area with microwave. I didn’t use it but my friend used the microwave to heat her food.
- the bathroom is spacious enough ; good shower area. Bathroom also had a rack so it was easy to leave toiletteries and such. 
- pretty quiet in the night. 
- there is a 24 hour grocery store across. 
- the pick up for the see krakow tour through them is right around the corner ag the Holiday Inn. We were picked up there for the Auschwitz tour ( see The See krakow review for details). 
-  they provide a shuttle to the airport. Its 30 zl per person. You can book through the hostel. The guy was on time and dropped us off hassle free. 

Cons : not really cons but things to know ...
- the reception and check in is only till 10pm. But once you check in you are given all the necessary keys to enter.
- at the moment , Oct 2018, there is renovation going on so just make sure yore room is not next to it. We were on the other side but were not inconvenienced at all. 
- there is no escalator and its on the 3rd floor. 
- the towels are small ; you can get the bigger one for 5zl extra. 
- we couldn’t find the details of public transport from the flixbus station to the hostel , on Google maps, but its a 20 min walk. Don’t panic :-) 

Great location, good price for 3 , highly recommend 

Starting with cleanliness - absurd. Mattresses were dirty and had a lot of spots on it. Dirty floor. Furthermore, there was an absolutely horrible accident happening at the nearby rooms. Shouting all over the street (even with windows closed) and then our neighbors came back into their room. Shouting and breaking everything up until 3am. Couldn't have a minutes of sleep! There was no receptionist staying the night! In the morning, me and my friends personally INFORMED receptionist of our neighbors behaviour (they had already checked-out) and offered receptionist to go and visit their room. We told we were not feeling safe here, so we want our money back for rest of our stay and just wanted to get out of there. We were told we could leave, but we can't get our money back. After some more time we agreed to settle on a deal which would let us leave and we were promised to get money back for 1 night. We were told a bank transfer would be arranged during the same day, and guess what... After we have called that same evening after not receiving a SINGLE CALL, we were told that no transfer would be made. Deal broken. Promises didn't kept. Feels bad, man. I will attach a couple of photos of that HORRIBLE night in Krakow.

Worst experience of my life

Note to self: read the reviews in future. There was only one plus to this hostel...the location. Everything else was horrifying. The check-in time was late (after 4pm), although they did let us drop our bags off around 2pm. On arrival, there was smashed glass all over the stairwell, the plaster was falling off the walls, and the room stank of cigarette smoke. The bedroom floor creaked, the bed sounded like it was about to collapse when you sat on it and there was mould and damp all round the bathroom. There were fixings falling off the walls and simple things like a lamp shade and the bed were wonky. At night loud banging and running water could heard from outside (possibly washing up from the restaurant below?). I didn't dare lift the sheet to see the state of the mattress. In the morning there were apparently no staff until 10am...we had to be out by 7:30am.

Only a few positive points redeem this horror of a place from getting zero stars...the location (it's close - 15 min walk - to the central square), the staff (when she was there, she was helpful and friendly), and some coffee was available in the morning.

I don't normally like leaving such a scathing review, but this place needs a MAJOR, URGENT RENOVATION. Do not stay here until this has been done.

Horrifying

The location is very good and close to the city center. There is a supermarket downstairs which is open pretty late. The reception is not open around the clock but you can arrange to check in outside of working hours. There are multiple bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. Other things such as hair dryer are also available upon request.

Nice place to stay for a few days if you are on a budget.

perfect place for our 5 day stay in Krakow- central for everything we needed. Although it is a hostel with bunk bedded rooms we stayed in a double bed ensuite room. Very comfy, very warm and with the use of the kitchen too. this is not luxury style but clean and friendly.

The lady at the reception speaks English, how many there are and is helpful, rooms are clean, beds: since I don't like soft mattresses, the foam layers were ok for me draw one point down, because of the damp ground and doors - at night it's quiet to bring towels, otherwise you can rent those on foot with luggage about 30 minutes across from the main station there's a supermarket around the corner is a small, inexpensive restaurant with both Polish cuisine and burgers & co, delicious tea

Folk Hostel is a hostel in the centre of Krakow We have booked a room with private bathroom, clean rooms A very spacious room, from simple furniture, but comfortable Well heated, even if it was a cold period.

A pleasant stay

We got a room with two beds. There's a separate kitchen, there's 2 separate toilets, a bed, a shower, all the accessories available. There's light. There's no smell. Everything is tolerable. I don't know how in other rooms, but where 2 beds of windows go out into a very noisy street, there's always a siren blaring, and in the morning garbage machines start to rush. So overall everything is satisfactory. The beds are very soft. The ceilings are high. There are 2 small chairs-bags in the room, there's also hangers, shoe closets) shoes. It's okay to sleep for two days.

My brother and I stayed 3 days in this hostel, the location is perfect seeing the price (3 nights 80 euros) 2 steps from the center of the old town, little superette open all the time just in front for shopping, the room (9) was very large, clean, the bedding is all done correctly, the sheets felt good :) kitchen has a provision with tea and coffee at will and all the utensils needed to cook as well as a very clean refrigerator, proper bathroom, hot water and pressure ok the little negative point is soundproofing which is terrible so plan balls that will if you have light sleep like me

Very well located hostel

Very convenient bed. Pleasant and friendly accommodation. Common kitchen available. Very good location in the centre of Krakow and 5 minutes walk from the main square. Cheap room (No.5) (about 30€) quite spacious but the cleanliness makes it really desirable... Access to the youth hostel difficult with luggage: on the second floor without an elevator.
