Very clean and comfortable rooms with bunk beds. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The views from Samotnia are amazing, and it’s only about a 90 minute hike from The Wang. I visited with my wife and two young children and we all loved it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is more beautiful spot and tranquil than Morskie Oko in the Tatra mountains. The mountain shelter has its style and climate. This is really exceptional place with amassing view on rock caldron and Sniezka pick. The walking routs to it are not difficult and very picturesque. Prices are reasonable but quality of food could be better – they salt, pepper and herbs.

It was all said so I can only confirm:
great food for low price. You won't get a lobster but those things are rather to give you a taste of "home" at very isolated place.

Very and surprisingly very clean place.

One of my favourite places around Karpacz, winter or summer, it's one of the most picturesque places in Karkonosze. When we lived in the area for a couple of months I'd go up there just to have their pancakes and sit outside for a bit enjoying the view :) A must see if you're a tourist.

We stayed at the Samotnia sheler with our friends from Spain who csme to visit us while we were staying for few months in Poland. We stayed in a mix bedroom with other travelers. Room was clean and beds comfy enough. Warm and quiet. Beautiful surranding ;) perfect spot to go to see sunrise and sunset ;) fully recommeded!

Probably the best refuge in Karkonosze of those i have used with decent rooms and good food and beverages. By far the best to recommend for both proximity to trails and the town, picturesque setting and friendly service

A beautifully situated shelter on the Mały Staw, surrounded by the Karkonosze peaks.
This is the first shelter on the trail to Śnieżka, starting from the Wang Temple.
A good place for a short rest before continuing on your way. 
Beautiful place, the surroundings are impressive.

When u are climbing the mountain and is snowing you will be more than happy to stay there for a nice glue wine and a small rest :)
Nice & cosy and friendly atmosphere.
Definitely a place to stop on a way to the top of Sniezka.

Romantic and peaceful

When I heard about the controversy of assigning a new leaseholder to run the place after many years in the hands of one family, I was conflicted. It seemed random and unjustified, but also a mountain hostel/shelter like this is not a privately owned fiefdom. 

Having visited soon after the owner change, I have no doubt: the new owners managed to kill the spirit of the place. The location is obviously stunning, but the interior and the staff are horrible. 

The first thing you see when you enter is a vending machine. You then proceed to a generic looking restaurant, similar to the lunch canteens in mid-city office buildings. As a restaurant guests, you get chased by staff members when you go to the bathroom because you must pay for using it! I was informed "all mountain shelters charge for toilets" (not true) and "we are the cheapest" (also not true,  though the gigantic Dom Śląski nearby does charge 4zł for the same thing). 

If you are looking for a small, genuine, atmospheric mountain hostel - this is not it, not anymore.
