We recently spent four nights here during our time in Siquijor. The two hosts were super friendly and helpful with everything. Room was very clean and air con worked a treat! Only down side was the water pressure but you if that’s the only problem that’s great for me.

The description of the rooms is not accurate. We also had the Deluxe Double Room, which is as unattended as everything else at James Hoghouse, which is why we never used the kitchen. It says that there is a maximum of 20m2 in the room, including toilet space. I don't know if you can really call the self-made thing a desk. The room has no kitchen of its own, there is a general kitchen in the main house that you can use. One of our worst stays ever

The owners will guide you to the homestay and will treat you like family. Requests are mostly granted and assistance will always be there- from transportation to options of destinations. The area is very quiet but the town proper is very accessible. You will find peace here.

However, the house is dirty, until yesterday we found a rat in the kitchen trash can, ants with lots of ants, etc. The room is a furnace!!

My wife and I have spent just one night here at only 500 PHP per room. I must have misunderstood the original offer on Booking.com because I was under the impression that the Economy Room has a bathroom. Well, it does not. There is a shared bathroom just around the corner, where the flush unfortunately doesn't work. You have to flush the toilet with a scoop of water and dispose of used toilet paper into a trash can. 
We were unlucky because there was a power cut in the evening, which meant sleeping without the fan. There is a window in the room, but with a view of... the living room and kitchen :-). So we wouldn't get any fresh air either. Fortunately they turned the power back on at 12:30 AM, so eventually we were able to get some kind of sleep. The owners were probably the kindest people we met in the Philippines, that's definitely a plus. Their scooter rental charge was very decent too (300 PHP per day).

We got a room with our own bathroom and aircon and it was still cheap! Really nice place of far from an amazing beach and bars! The hosts are lovely and make a mean breakfast. 
I don't think I can fault this place, it's surrounded by cute animals which I personally love and honestly the location is great.

We spent a couple of nights staying in this homestay and the truth was a real pleasure.The room was spacious and the private bathroom (though outside the room) was very proper.The hostess is charming and helped us a lot by telling us where to go etc. If you like to stay away from the tourist rush but at the same time well communicated, with a clear motorbike, your location is perfect.Recommended for backpacker travelers and not lovers of great luxuries but yes good company.

Spent the last few nights at James Homestay. The full establishment was extremely clean, the room itself was fantastic. There was a great deal of space which made the experience that bit easier.

On arrival we spoke with the family and they helped us plan what activities we wanted to do, they also provided an island map which helped greatly.

The location of the homestay cannot be faulted, it is situated a short ride away from town.

Extremely impressed with our stay and completely recommend to any other backpackers.
