Kota Beach Resort

We expected big white sand, palm trees and calm waters but it was Kota Beach Resort’s peacefulness and that ever present tranquil vibe we felt as soon as we arrived that really impressed us. We felt totally relaxed and at home the whole time. Our room was comfortable and the staff very friendly. The pick up and drop off at the port was very convenient.  For a change of pace and scenery we walked down the road to Santa Fe’s many colorful bars and restaurants. The food was very good at the resort, and the squid we had in the restaurant overlooking the big white sands was probably the best we’ve tasted in the Philippines, and very reasonably priced too. We will visit again soon.

The beach is quite far from the night life center of the island but if you love serenity, this is the place for you. Say hello to paradise! Though the beach resort has a restaurant and bar wherein you can dine as you enjoy the beach view.

Nice, white sand beach with sand bar. I love going there and run along the beach every morning. The sand is powdery and the beach is not too crowded when i was there. Altho there are lots of boats on the far end of the beach not much near the swimming spots.

This place is excellent. Gorgeous beach front. The staff were exceptional with their hospitality. Very kind, happy and down to earth. We felt right at home. The sunsets at this place will blow your mind.

Had a greaf two-night stay in this rsort on my birthday. The staffs are well trained, the food is great and affordable and the level of cleanliness is commendable. There was just a slight delay on serving our breakfast because they were understaffed due to pandemic but nevertheless each employee worked so hard to serve all guests with the best of their ability.

The sunset here is one of the best I've ever seen. We also enjoyed lying on the sand while watching the stars at night. I can't wait to be back!

Thanks for an amazing summer getaway! It's truly one of the most memorable vacations that I have. I love the Filipino-inspired villas, the wide stretch of seashore, pristine water and amazing staff! Plus the sumptuous food, of course. I wanna go back there soon! <3

Rooms were clean.  A cleaning crew was there twice a day.  We stayed at a cottage by the beach and would expect insects and bugs.  But surprisingly, there was none inside the cottage, which also had a nice cool a/c.   So you can sleep soundly at night.  Food the restaurant was excellent.  A very enjoyable stay.

Me and my wife just wanted to relax from the busy city life. Kota Beach is the perfect place where we spent time to rest and feel the nature. The beach is nice and secluded, it feels like I'm in a paradise. Downtown Bantayan is too near where we can have a choice to dine within the resort or out in another restaurant. If you love dried fish and squid, their public market is just a walking distance. It was the only time I knew that dried fishes from Cebu City are picked up from this island. This island really have the best dried seafoods.

We loved our stay! If there was only thing we wished was better was the air con! It wasn’t as strong and didn’t keep the room cold! There was free breakfast every morning and it was only PHP10/person to take a tricycle to all the restaurants down the street. I believe parts of the movie “Camp Sawi” was filmed at Kota Beach so that was pretty cool! We definitely want come back!

We felt right at home

I loved this place. We stayed at one of the beach front cottages and it was worth it. This resort is located right at Kota Beach, noted for its wide sandy beach, and shallow, gentle surf. The room was rustic-- no tv, no wifi (wifi available at restaurant),  no room phone (we got cell signal) --- just the basic stuff but functional --clean room, comfortable bed, smallish bathroom, hot shower, small ref, working AC. But the view from our cottage was just awesome. Definitely the place to just chill on the beach, and that's what we enjoyed during our stay. If you want to explore the island, you can rent scooter just outside the resort gate. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They picked us up from Santa Fe port, and shuttled us back after we checked out.

I also loved their in-house restaurant, Kadlawon. We never had a bad meal there. Check out there grilled fish, or if your more adventurous, get the steamed crab. The restaurant staff were courteous and responsive.

As for the cons, I wish they'll do something to control those beach dogs.

Overall great stay; I'll definitely consider staying here again.

Had an amazing stay

We went there during the 'seaweed season' so there are plenty washed up on the shore but the place was still beautiful. Room rates are reasonable. Kota Beach has a sandbar and long shoreline. The food is good as well, loved the barbecue nights  (I love their grilled squid) and their co-working cafe.  The Mobile data connection in the area is good. A catholic church (forgot the name) and Chef Panyang is just a 5-minute walk from the resort. They have shuttle service to and from the port else they'll reimburse your tricycle fare. Kota beach is better than Ogtong Cave Resort, will provide more details in a separate review. Bantayan Island is a lovely place with kind people. Just bring enough cash, I was a little unlucky when we were there, the only ATM nearby, also a 5-minute walk from the resort, was having issues dispensing cash so I had to go to Daanbantayan if I'm not mistaken.

Note: The hotel, I believe, does not offer massage services but they can connect you with a local masseuse/masseur who can go to the hotel. Tours are also offered by local tricycle drivers, the hotel can also connect you to them.
