Asiablooms Hotel is a decent but modest hotel along the National Highway in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.  One weekend, my family had to attend some legal meetings and we had to lay overnight in the capital.  We arrived late at 8pm and our associates were already in the restaurant and just finished dinner.  We met with the group of 6 until 9 p.m. and afterwards had dinner of Torta and Hototay in the hotel restaurant.  Decent meal and decent prices.  After, we booked a room and spent the night.  It was a room good for four equipped with a hot shower.  Basic necessities were provided for a pack of soap, shampoo and a toothpaste and toothbrush.  The room even had TV and with a nice aircon which enabled everyone to have a good night sleep.  We even had free breakfast with the room rate.  Overall it was a nice good deal.

A Modest but Clean Hotel...Asiablooms

The hotel is located along the National Highway, so finding it and getting there by any modes of land transportation, be it public or private, should not be a problem. However, that seems to be the only good thing working for them. 

We stayed here on the New Year’s Day on the annual family holiday trip to my sister-in-law’s. We cannot stay in her place as she did not have a housemaid and will not be able to attend to the room we will stay in, so we decided to stay in Asiablooms. It seemed like it was only us and my in-laws that were checked in at the hotel during out stay.

The place is old and needs maintenance, the rooms were spacious though. The hallways were dark and needs better lighting. Many (actually a lot!) of things inside the room needs improvement, see details below.

Service was okay and all the employees were attentive. However, front desk employees on the day we checked out were quite snooty. Parking space was ample.

So in a nutshell:

PLUS:
- The hotel is along the road and is easy to find.
- There was enough parking spaces.
- There are free toiletries for four and complimentary bottled water as well. 
- The price of the accommodations was not so bad, but as the old adage goes: “you do not get what you do not pay for.”

DELTA:
Room:
- The double lock on the door was misaligned, virtually making it useless.
- Some of the bulbs in the room were busted, the hotel did not even replace them.
- The curtains were 6” per side shorter than the curtain rod.
Aircon:
- The louvers of the aircon were broken, I had to wedge some paper beside it to make it blow air where I wanted to.
- The main timer knob (also the power switch) of the aircon was broken, so I had to plug, unplug the electrical cord to turn the aircon on or off.
Bathroom:
- The tiles in the bathroom need scrubbing.
- The bulb in the bathroom was so dim, needs to be replaced with a brighter one.
- The shower area does not have a curtain, everything in the bathroom becomes wet after taking a bath. 
- The shower fittings were leaking and the water pressure was so low. 
- The water closet was hesitating to flush.
TV:
- The TV was quite small for the room and was placed in an awkward position. I felt someone can easily hit it and it will fall to the ground. 
Others:
- The bath towels were thin and rough. I would not wipe my car with it.

Look elsewhere....

1600 pesos for an air con room with no window or view, and very very basic. No hot water, toilet seat and taps broken, old school desk furniture. Had to ask for a sheet/blanket, no TV remote control for a TV from the 1980s. Bathroom floor wet and dirty. Breakfast included but finished at 9am and was cold (eggs, rice, sausage and satchel coffee), with waitress playing loud music. Will not stay there again. Hotel looks good outside, and corridors etc clean and bright, but our room was shabby.

Royalblooms (formerly Asiablooms) was my home for the whole Anilag 2018 week, and here are the things you should know:

LOCATION

Royalblooms Hotel is right beside the highway where commercial buses and all modes of transportation can be accessed. You will not have any issues finding this hotel whether coming from the North or South. You can easily hail a tricycle if you need to go to the market, mall, or the Provincial Capitol. Convenience stores and food establishments are also just a stone throw away. No problems at all with location.

FOOD

The Hotel has its own restaurant/bar that serves eclectic dishes from Silog (fried rice, egg and your choice of viand) meals for breakfast, pansit (noodles) short orders, grilled meat, vegetables, you name it. Very Filipino style menu. For the duration of my stay, I think I had breakfast at the hotel 4 times, and I commend how fast the cooking time is, also the male crew (I forgot his name, petite and slim guy) was very polite and always welcomed me with a warm smile. That's very good.

- - CONS - - 

ROOM

I don't usually ask to be transferred to a different room if I am not satisfied with the one given to me, but this time I had to ask. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available because it was peak time for the hotel (Anilag Festival). Why did I ask for a different room? Because the one given to me was super dirty. Stains everywhere, cobwebs, dust, insects, television didn't work, the only ceiling light in the room produced strange noise that doesn't go away unless you turn it off.

CEILING LIGHT

Like what I said above, the ONLY ceiling light in the room produced a strange noise, it was very loud, you have to switch it off just to find a little comfort in the already very uncomfortable room.

BATHROOM

The horror continues in the bathroom was unbearable - broken faucet, broken shower, the water coming out of them stinks,  the water pressure was very bad (you'd wish you brought your own gallon of water for shower) no exhaust fan, tiles and floor were super dirty.

BED

Do they even change their linens in this hotel? every other day I ask the front desk to make up my room, and I always found something wrong. If not stains, there are hair strands bundled with the bath towel or the pillowcases. 

Overall a very bad experience. I will never stay at Royalblooms Hotel again. Only consider this hotel if ALL other hotels nearby are fully booked (make this your last option)

Bad bad bad bad

Well at first, the place can be easily locate. The reception area is just fine, you can see the sofas look dirty. We had it prebook, when we were shown to our room. The room had an awful woody smell, so we requested a "better" room. They did transferred us to the second level of their rooms. As you can in the photos. At the end we were not satisfied. The bedsheets and pillows were dirty. At first night, I couldn't sleep because I felt something crawling on my back.
