Others might have a not so excellent stay in this place, but I had the best experience here. This place I will surely recommend to my family and friends. I am so in love with this place - from the surroundings, the things you can do, and the people who works there. On a nutshell, if you are looking for a genuine rest - like no cellphones, a bit of wifi, all nature, quiet and calm, this is the place to be. Otherwise don’t come here if you are looking for a swanky hotel.

Going there:
From Iloilo city to Ortiz Wharf, it is easy to go there. Fastforward, arriving at Jordan going there is almost an hour ride. Though I took the tricycle, it was quite a long ride from the port to Dungcaan terminal will it will take you to one of the most beautiful places I ever visited.

The long ride to Dungcaan, then as short boat ride through the mangroves and to the islets gives you the impression that it is a very quiet place - it is indeed an paradise! It is also a place to get offline - no signal (for Globe users), the resort has a wifi though, but you are not there to spend time in your phone or laptop, but instead to be in nature and enjoy the excellent view and surroundings. The waiting time for the boat isn’t too long, as the resorts in that area do get to pick up passengers constantly throughout the day.

The boat ride will be a short one, it will go through a small river, and then minutes later, you will be amazed to see how your view will open up from a small river with mangroves all over the place, to an open sea with small islands. The view is amazing!

Facilities and surroundings:
This is not a hi-end resort, so the facilities are good enough for a week or two stay. The huts are great- it has nice beddings, sheets are clean and they have enough pillows. And where we stayed, which is the sunrise room, has its own bathroom with toilet, and running water. It doesn’t have a shower so you have to take a bucket shower instead. I think the air conditioned rooms has their showers. The fan rooms are greatly located fronting the sea and a super amazing view, and that’s what I recommend for those coming into this resort. It is an island afterall, so the water from the shower has a little salty after taste to it, but if you need a cold, clean drinking water just ask the reception.

The overall surroundings are clean, well maintained and quiet. it is for those who really love to be in nature! What I like about this resort is that, they have kayak facility so you can rent for 100 pesos for a two person kayak while 75 for a single person.The surrounding beach is also good too. Since the area where the resort is, is between the sea and river, there’s a bit of sea grass and loam in the beach, which is not completely irritating and bothersome, but maybe for some it is not good. But the water is clean though and not too deep. So it is friendly for kids too. They have beach beds and hammocks too so musing around wouldn’t be a problem.

They got a small bar there too, but I think they closes early since some of the staff are not staying in the resort, I suggest you get your beers and booze before it closes down. The common area has a TV, they don’t have karaoke so expect that it won’t get too noisy. And there’s a wifi connection too, but cellular signal is almost dead. Hence this is a best place to be offline and get some genuine rest, I mean seriously for those who are seeking that kind of vacation.

The food is excellent! It is also not too expensive. But my tip is, you have to tell them if it is only for two persons or for one. Their serving is too big for a couple or single. But then the good thing is that, if the food costs 300, and that is good for 5-6 persons, you can ask them to cut it off to half and the price gets cut off too so you don’t have to pay for the full price even if you ordered a quantity that is only good enough for your personal consumption. They also serve free breakfast for those who booked in to the resort and they serve the food on time, hot and fresh! you can even ask them to cook some fresh catch too! just ask their staff what’s the fresh catch of the day at an affordable cost.

The best part also is that the staff are the best! they are the nicest I have ever met. They serve with a smile, and they always attend to you when you need something. I admire their quality of service and attentiveness to us when we stayed there. Mariel is the front desk person and she is the nicest! I like her service and her attentiveness. Their cook is also the nicest! and he doesn’t only cook but also serves the guests. They always greet you good morning and they greet with sincerity and smile. I love the staff so much and they bring a great service to the resort.

Overall Experience
If I can give them more than 5 stars, I would! I guess for someone like me who is not so particular with facilities, I mean for as long as we have a bed to sleep in and a clean bathroom and running water and amazing staff, I think I am good. The place itself is amazing, I have no words to explain how beautiful this place is, at a fraction of a cost even. The staff, the surroundings and everything is two thumbs up! Again, don’t expect too much, like I said it is not Shangrila or some swanky resort, but it is for someone who seeks genuine relaxation with the nature, at the most affordable cost. Great value for money I would say! And worth coming back for.

It was our 4th wedding anniversary when we booked our 2N 3D stay here. It was not the first time we set foot on Guimaras,but our first time to go on this area of the island. I will be sharing my personal experience for the following category, PLACE, FOOD, STAFF, EXPERIENCE.
PLACE-We stayed at one of their fan room for 2 pax. Inside the room is a double sized bed in double deck style, It was okay at first because the bed is quite huge but the style of the bed was uncomfortable since you always have to bend down and the size of bed took most of the space in the entire room. On the other side, the whole resort will give you the rest you needed.
FOOD- I can't recall giving bad comments on their food. Aside from being delicious,the serving is generous I must say. 
STAFF- Nice and friendly staff. They got dogs as well,so nice.
EXPERIENCE- I was satisfied with our experience we had our Island hopping and enjoyed the trail around the resort but unfortunately we haven't tried their kayaking. I also wanted to have a body massage but it was not available.

Highly Recommended Resort in Guimaras.Best Experience Ever.Relaxing Place to stay.

Anniversary Stay

Highly recommended place in Guimaras for nature lovers, seeking genuine rest and amazing views!

The place is perfect for disconnecting since the network signal in the place is a real challenge. There is a specific spot in the whole place that has a signal though. the sunrise and sunset in the place is good.
i just feel that the price is not worth the amenities a lot is missing, for example there are no toiletries and shower in the restroom. There are no good water supply, if you wanted a clean water you should buy a gallon since the supplied water is a bit salty, i am thinking it should already be part of the amenities.
Our room (an air-conditioned one) has no TV set i do not know if the other room has any.
Out travel to the place from Jordan wharf is around 3 hours, we tried taking the jeep and a motor cycle to the place.

Quiet Place

We spent our summer vacation in my hometown, Negros and since it's only a ferryboat-ride away to Iloilo, my family decided to go to Guimaras Island!  We tried this resort, shared on FB by a friend of my sister. Here are for me, the Pros and Cons:

PROS:
- Resort is beachfront and has a lagoon just across the sandbar for kayaking. 
- Staffs are friendly and accommodating including the boatmen who were more than willing to take our pictures.
- It's a short boat ride to the mangroves  and other island hopping attractions. 
-  Hammocks, basketball, volleyball & kayaks are available for use of guests. 

CONS:
-The Chalet where we stayed was ok for the price but no television. The wall fans need to be replaced, you could hardly feel the air blowing. 

-It's secluded that you need to board a flat boat to get to the resort on a high tide (about 10-12 minutes ride) or walk across the fishponds and mangroves for about 15-20 mins on low tide. 

-Network signal is really difficult to get,  had to find a spot where i could send an important text message. 

-Menu was limited. There was no supply of prawns, oysters nor squid during our stay but they offered us  one king crab which we ordered, just to have a seafood on the table!  A bit pricey but tasteful. 

Over-all, we had a pleasant overnight stay in this resort but may have to try and experience other resorts on the other side of Guimaras when we get back hopefully someday. 

By the way, you should drop by the floating cottage you'll pass by during the island hopping tour for a minimal fee only. Swimming in this part of the island i think was the best part of our trip. Enjoy Guimaras! :)) 



"Nice but secluded"

Going to this resort felt like staying at the house of someone who doesn't want you there. Literally the worst experience I've ever had in a Philippines resort. We booked for three nights but (luckily) missed the last boat on the first night, so only spent two nights there. When we arrived (a day late) in the afternoon around 2pm, we were made to wait for 40 minutes while the staff 'checked' the room. The manager told us that the last people had checked out late. We told her we'd paid for the room from the night before she quickly changed her story and said the room had to be checked because of the roofing. When the staff finally came down with bed sheets and a basket of cleaning products, we knew that they'd re-sold our pre-paid room after we'd called them the previous evening to inform them we'd missed the boat. It went downhill from there. The staff were completely untrained and did not have the faintest idea how to behave in a hospitality environment. We had to personally get up and ask for menus, order our food, order drinks, and ask for cutlery every single meal we had there. Never once were any of our plates cleared from our table after eating, despite around 5-6 staff constantly loitering in the restaurant area drinking whiskey and watching TV as though they were at home. We were the only two people in the resort on the first night, and the staff decided to choose a table for us to sit at to eat before we got there, setting it up with placemats and water glasses. We sat at a different table to play a boardgame, and ordered food from there, but when they brought it out they put it at the other table (which we had never sat at) instead of simply moving the placemats. We were also told to move to a different table which had a tablecloth on it on two different occasions by the waitress who was apparently too lazy to move it herself. The food was terrible. They had virtually nothing from the menu. We ordered their 'speciality' mixed seafood platter, which consisted of four cockle shells, a smattering of squid tenticles, and a huge amount of chopped carrots. In the morning we ordered two omelettes, and although my boyfriend's was fine, mine was completely white (instead of yellow). I asked the waiter and he shrugged and said 'the chef said there was no yolk in the egg'. We all know it takes more than one egg to make an omelette, and that eggs all come with a yolk, I've travelled a lot, but I've never had someone lie to me like that in a restaurant! On our last night every single one of the staff left without saying anything to us while we were eating dinner. According to another guest they walked off to the top of a hill to hang out. So we couldn't order any drinks, or dessert with our food. The mattress in our room was also paper thin in the middle, we had achey shoulders after sleeping there. There were many more gripes but I don't want to turn this into an essay (although there is certainly enough rich material to do so). We went to this resort because Lonely Planet recommended it, however there has obviously been a change of ownership since then. Unfortunately we got the laziest, rudest, most unprofessional bunch of staff we've ever encountered in the Philippines, who seemed intent on sabotaging any good reputation left. The manager has clearly failed on every level to train staff and manage the business. My advice, do NOT go to this place, I imagine if they go on like this they'll be out of business soon anyway.
