It’s my 2nd time at the resort. The vibe is still the same- awesome, unexplainable and hypnotizing. What I’d like with Alon is it’s not just a resort, it’s an abode where honesty has been thought through their ‘honesty bar’. Services reflect how hospitable filipinos are. The newly built rooms is awesome. I’ll be back for sure. Highly recommended!


The resort is not Sagana anymore. New name is Alon. Stayed here for 2 nights. I like how peaceful and relaxing the place. Location is superb! They have a small pool where you can take a dip anytime. Breakfast is ok and service was great!

Sagana Resort is a gem. It's charming and picturesque. 

I'm so glad to have stayed here. Everything about it was excellent. The location, food, amenities, room, view, staff, all outstanding. You can walk to the famous cloud 9 surf spot in less than a minute. Around the corner is a beautiful area for swimming and snorkeling. If you want to go island hopping, I recommend asking for a tour from Ricardo.

The owners Gerry and Susan are fantastic and very accommodating. Their dog Oscar is so friendly and fun to hang out with. 

I highly recommend staying at Sagana on your visit to Siargao.

We spent 3 nights at Susan and Gerry's place and we absolutely loved it! 
We were lucky to be upgraded to cottage 3 which is a beautiful cottage with fantastic sea front view. Each cottage has its own little balcony where we relaxed, read and enjoyed the view.

The location is also perfect for both surf lovers but also if you just enjoy swimming and snorkelling. Cloud 9 and other surf spots are literary walking distance. 

Sagana offers all three meals per day. We had breakfast included in our rate however we ended up having dinner there every night. The menu for dinner changed every day depending on the local produces, especially fresh fish. Dinner each night was sensational!! Super fresh and delicious.

Sagana has a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Susan and Gerry are great hosts and make you feel really welcome. The whole staff was super nice and friendly. Oscar is the celebrity dog and came swimming with us often. 
More than a hotel it is like staying with friends. Thank you guys for the awesome time!!

This place would definitely feature in the top 5 places myself and my boyfriend have ever stayed. The location is perfect with cloud 9 on your door step. All our needs were catered for and the ac room we had was massive! 

The food was in another level with tuna tataki made twice from freshly caught fish earlier that day. We are still talking about that meal to this day.

Susanna and her husband have done an incredible job building this place from scratch.

Highly recommend staying at Sagana!

Epic place with epic hosts!

Most incredible stay in 3 months 

Relaxing and Peaceful

As a previous review has stated that this place is now got new owners and is called Alon Resort. After the great reviews we were expecting a different experience. Not that what we experienced was bad but it was a little weird. I think the resort has a different feel to it now. There is a Manager running the resort, Mika (who is very nice) but it does not have the vibe that is described in the previous posts. There was a family living at the resort as long term guests and it felt really weird as they had sort of taken over the place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and our daughters particularly liked Edna’s cooking however to have dinner we had to book in advance. Again a little weird as we are use to staying at places that have a restaurant or not. The location is good being right at Cloud 9 however the bar across the road is a bit noisy at night going till about midnight. We love the traditional bungalow places to stay rather than the fancy resorts however for the price I think Alon needs to make some improvements.
