RedDoorz @ Amphibi-ko Resort Palawan

Spent 1 day diving at Amphibi-Ko. The wrecks were spectacular & the reef was amazing. The service on the boat was excellent. A hot meal was served on the boat after the 2 nd dive it was very good. Dive masters & boat crew were excellent & helpful. Safety was a priority for dive masters better than most destinations I have been. The resort itself was very good with a nice clean room with good air conditioning & ample hot water. Free breakfast was included with the stay. It was a very good breakfast to get you going before diving. Was supposed to have 2 additional days of diving but developed a sinus condition& was concerned about my ears. Will look forward to returning to see more of the World War 2 wrecks. 

I was looking for a place to do a refresher and I'm so glad I came here. The diving instructor, Jun, was so nice and so patient. His briefings were super clear and he was just the best underwater. The diving spots were amazing and the boat crew were super fun. I had a great time! Thanks guys!

We were super happy to find this dive shop. A team of local dive masters and French instructors will make you feel safe for discovering the beauty of wreck diving. We dove all the wrecks with them and it was a great experience. The boat staff was super fun and they always cooked a delicious lunch. The beer at the end of the dives was a nice surprise! I definitely recommend scuba diving with amphibi-ko!

I stumbled across Amphibi-KO while in Coron and popped in to ask for prices to do my Advanced PADI course and was drawn in by Anthony (instructor) and his girlfriend. He was passionate, patient and engaging. We spent 2 days diving incredible wrecks and learnt lots of additional skills outside of what was required (night diving and nitrox). Anthony was unfortunately unwell on day 2 so Lloyd took us out instead and we had a similarly great time.

We stayed for 3 nights only and found it clean and friendly. The Skyline Restaurants out the back was great for dinner and breakfast was what we would expect.
The staff were very helpful and we organised the ultimate day tour with them a great day out.

Thank you for a really good experience! 

After visiting several shops I decided to go with Amphibi as Sam was informative, friendly and helpful.

This however was not the case on the boat the next day.

There was no welcome on board, no introductions as to who was our Instructor/ DM and who we would be paired with for diving.

When we got to Barracuda Lake I was rushed over to our apparent DM for a briefing who I obviously didn't know.

On the wreck dives the 'briefing' was not very clear and had to ask multiple times on exit points etc. As an experienced Rescue diver with over 200 dives (including wreck/cave) really felt the safety aspect was lacking. My buddies tank had also been filled (twice) to 160 bar, luckily he had checked this & swapped before the dive. 

Once back on the boat felt we were 'in the way' of the staff who were more than happy socialising and enjoying their time together at the back of the boat.  

That being said once in the water the DM was good at instruction. However clear safety briefings & professionalism are just as important. 

I chose to dive with another shop the next day which was an excellent decision.

Diving - definite room for improvement!

I registered as a Dive master coming from far away only for the ship wrecks.  One dive was not a ship wreck and it was really bad and the visibility was worse 
1. No DM discounts. 
2. I wanted to pay after I finish the dives since I had now Idea what to expect,  and Use my credit card to pay also for the room.  and save some ATM commotions.  They took my passport & Drivers license & 1000 pesos deposit....  Then I couldn't rent a bike but they didn't care
3. I got the room after 3 hour of uncertainty not knowing whats going on.  
4. The hot water shower burned!!!  whike i was showering
5. I forget my 100 $ head set in my room after i check out,  and they said they didnt find it!!!
6. Last but not least.  The DMs were going so fast,  we got lost in the ship!!!!!!  
7. The only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is Sam the frensh instructor who was very nice.  and three dives when he was on the boat were awesome.  

Greedy owner 

Arrived at 8am as advised, registration forms had been filled out the previous day but staff had still mispelt names on the schedule board and also couldn't seem to remember which divers were doing refresher courses so it was all seeming very disorganised.
All gear was sorted by 8.30am. We then sat in the dive shop (on the floor as we were in the equipment room) until 9.45am with no communication from staff whatsoever as to what we were waiting for or how long we would be there. 
Finally a boat arrives but as the water is too shallow we had to get a row boat to it. This took another 15 minutes as all our gear had to get across as well. I'm not sure if all of their trips leave this late as the staff didn't seem concerned at all when I asked them why we had waited over an hour in the shop but it was a lot of wasted time with zero communication. 
11 divers and gear on the boat meant you could barely move for the whole day. The dives themselves and the staff were fine but overall very unorganized and they obviously cram as many people as possible onto the trips to make more money. The lunch was also not great compared to other trips I've done.
Would not go back or recommend to anyone.

Unorganized and over crowded

Very unprofessional. I booked 3 fun dives and my surprise when I arrived to the diving centre the following morning, 2 Filipino guys asked what I was doing there. I told them I was there for diving and they start laughing and told me no dive today and they continue laughing.
The reason was due to two people cancelled their dives.
The diving centre made me fill all my details the previous day including contact details that they never used.
I asked at reception who was responsible to inform me and the staff at the diving centre said that the French instructor called Sam, was the responsable. They tried to call him several times without success. ( He supposed to be at the diving centre at 8am too as he told when I booked the fun dives). Obviously they didn't do anything apart from give me back the deposit what is obvious.
I asked for the number of the French guy and I sent him a text to find out about the situation.

He told me that the responsibility to inform about it was the reception at the diving centre and when asked for any solution literally laughed saying words as "I want to remind you that you are in the Philippines not in Europe or America".

Fun dives

They have 3 poor dogs chained, 1 of them is in a cage under the sun above the sea without water, yelling all day long and waiting for someone to free them. I went to see these 3 poor animals and there were so nice, so friendly, they look so unhappy there that’s terrible. You should be ashamed ... 
I denounced the resort to an association, hope they’ll do something. 
Please never go there, just for this reason !!!!
