My family went to a day trip to this resort. We were supposed to stay overnight but they were fully booked. The resort boasts an impressive number of swimming pools ensuring that we had plenty of options for cooling off and enjoying the water. We specifically enjoyed the jacuzzi with different temperature.

The food in the resort's restaurant were good. We indulged in a delicious meal that satisfied our taste buds and left us feeling content. The menu offered a variety of options ensuring that there was something for everyone.

However, our excitement dropped when we decided to treat ourselves to a massage at the resort's spa. While the massage itself was satisfactory, we were taken aback by the therapists' behavior. They were demanding tips, which we planned to give, but we didn't expect them to ask for it so directly.  The insistence felt unnecessary and slightly off-putting. It made us feel uncomfortable.



Demanding Therapists

PROS:
- Beautiful, clean, and picturesque resort with well landscaped gardens and well trimmed lawns. Perfect for IG, FB and other social postings!
- Food is okay
- Staff are very helpful and friendly
- Beds are now softer and more comfy compared to last time we stayed there (Bamboo Toom)
- Although a "public" resort, the  higher price point attracts less crowds, making it more "private" or "exclusive". 

CONS:
- Had to pay P400 corkage to be able to bring chips and nuts ito the resort
- Food is a bit on the pricey side
- Bathrooms need some attention
- They took away the shower curtains in public male shower rooms.
- The canteen near the pools is understaffed even on a weekend. Food orders take ages to arrive.

Gorgeous and very clean resort for a price.

Hostping water pools are good. Needs major improvement on rooms though. They are very old already. They do not pass good quality for real. Pillow and blanket smells bad, kulob smell. Standard room costs 4,600 per night, but actual quality looks 1,500 pesos only. Door knobs on room entrance is very hard to handle, plus the actual door needs replacement. The bathroom and toilet are the worst. Fixtures need replacement. Parang nasa horror flick.

Rooms need major renovation.

Stayed here for 2 Nights in the Bamboo Suite Room 705, our thoughts.

Pros:

1. The view is breathtaking anytime of the day.

2. Staff are friendly and helpful whenever you need them.

3. There's a number of Korean & Filipino food and the food is so good here, with their generous food portions. 

4. There's a functioning bidet for those who prefer it over just toilet paper.

5. There's a King bed and a Single bed. Good for 3, but we were just 2 so we made use of the extra pillows and blanket.

6. A TV is available. Channels like Nickelodeon and HBO are available. We've managed to watch some classics like Sucker Punch and Snow White and the Huntsmen.

Cons:

1. Rooms are a little run down, there are holes and dirt on walls. Some sockets have popped out of walls too, rendering it unable to be used.

2. There's only hot water available in the bathroom, sometimes it feels a little too scalding hot to bathe. 

3. Some towels and linen are a little torn, but it was still useable as a bathroom mat to soak up water after bathing.

4. Eating at the outside cottages at night tend to attract flies. Both on food and yourself. Swatting them away doesn't do much as they'll only increase in numbers.

5. You can't eat in the rooms or there'll be a fine of 5,000 pesos and above onto your room bill. 

There are also other factors like loud singing at the restaurants, which is true, but in our room, we couldn't hear anything at all so we can't really comment on it. The singing is actually pretty decent.

Beds are stiff, no doubt, but we didn't have much of a problem with it and managed to sleep without having any back problems the next day. 

We didn't have a problem at breakfast even though it had a small selection. There were: Rice, Corned Beef, Egg, Toast, Hotdogs, Vegetable Salad and Egg Drop soup. These were more than enough for my partner and I for a hearty breakfast.

Don't entertain any stray cats or dogs that you come across at the hotel. My partner and I loves animals, but these are stray and some look visibly unwell. They don't bite unless you start playing with them. If you're near a staff, they can help chase them away without hurting them. Just let them know.

Overall, it was a pretty okay experience! If you don't mind a room with just very basic necessities, come over and enjoy the food and view here.

Overall satisfactory, with Areas of Improvement.

1. Accommodation we stayed in is not even the cheapest one but it is so terrible! The mattresses are soooo hard! You won't get a good night's sleep!
2. The aircon is so noisy and even turned off by itself in the middle of the night. We got scared that it won't turn on anymore. Fortunately, it did.
3. Breakfast choices are also terrible: hotdog, corned or spicy bulgogi. Not much choices!! They also claim to have fruit juice but it's just some powdered juice with lots of sugar!
4. They won't give you towels when you check in. You have to even request them to give you! Isn't this a given?
While the facilities are well maintained, the accommodation is so bad!

this resorts staff detained us because as per checking the room lacks 1 towel , it took us so long , until they found the missing towel in that room , staff should check the things to be checked when the customer is checking out. its giving the client a wrong impression,

What you need to know beforehand: This resort is under korean management.

So expect korean food in the restaurant. And mattresses that feel like a wooden board with a towel on top.

The facilities are nice, speaking of the pools. Especially the 43 degrees hot tubs are awesome for deep muscle relaxation.
I also had a really good Shiatsu massage at their massage facility.

The cottages are so-so. Not really new, not well maintained.

The view is breathtaking.

Downsides:
Awfully loud music from the restaurant. Live Band, whatever. This really destroyed the serenity of this place.
Oh, and the beds. Holy cow, I'm a camper. Used to thin mattresses and sleeping outdoors.
But this was a completely new level. It was like a stiff wooden board with a thin blanket on top. My whole body was stiff and aching in the morning, the relaxing effects of the Shiatsu massage were gone.

It'd be quite nice, if they'd work on the music and the beds.

We will not come back and also not recommend this resort.
We will rather look for alternatives for the next overnight.

You gonna love it when you're deaf and have a steel spine

Most of the hot spring resorts in Laguna require you to rent by groups of 20 pax or more, costing an average of P25k per nite.  Only a handful allow Day Tours for small groups of 2 to 5pax and 88 Hot Spring Resort is one of them.  They charge an average of USD25 per head for a Day Tour, allowing u to use all the facilities in the resort except the rooms with beds.  Open cottages for eating and unloading your baggage are free.  The restaurant offers a wide selection of Korean dishes and only about 5 Filipino dishes.  The resort is big and beautiful with well manicured gardens and clean as well.  Like I said, the place is ideal for us because we only wanted a Day Tour.  We did try staying a nite on another occasion but found the rooms a little below standards for the price.  I must say the rooms are spacious, but too plain and the en suite toliet facilities are not so clean and are already showing signs of age.  The bed mattresses are also rather stiff and uncomfortable.  The staff by the way are very friendly and are most eager to help clients to make their stay a pleasant one.

Worth it for a Day Tour!

Stayed here jan 1 2020. The hot spring is ok facilities are not. Old and not maintained the fact they charge high for accomoodation. The room interiors are falling apart and dirty. The restaurant is so so so so so basic but they charge very high 😠. Definitely i will not come back for sure there are other better resorts that has good ambience.

And before i forget their bed is as hard as wood

Not worth it

Me and my friends would always come here for a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle in the metro. Never tried their rooms because we always go for the day-tour but their rooms look promising. Place is soooo relaxing, has superb ambiance and big enough not to get too crowded. Highly recommended!
