We just got back from our one week trip to the beautiful island of Boracay. We drove to Caticlan Jetty Port and had to park our car in a private lot. Then you need to pay quite a bit to cross on the ferry. 3 different fees. 2 fees on the way back. We stayed at chateau de boracy that was close to the beach. The first thing we noticed was the vast amount of vendors. Every few feet 2 or 3 people would ask if you wanted a seafood buffet, massage or parasailing. It was overwhelming at first and you eventually have to start ignoring them. By the 5th day they were on the path down to the beach and even on hotel property. It was simply too much. They are polite but very persistent. The ones with toys or ice cream go right for the kids to persuade the parents.  Luckily Josh got used to saying no to them right away. Another huge drawbsck was the fact that don't take credit, even the hotel. Who carries 40000 pesos with them. Very inconvenient as the ATMs charge an outrageous 10% fee so we used Western Union for cash transfers. The food was ok and most was priced similar to Canada. That had many options to pick from including McDonalds and KFC along with many buffets.  The beach was very nice after it was closed and cleaned.  There was a lot of seaweed the first few days. We were not lucky enough to see a sunset as it was  covered by clouds everyday but im sure it would have been fantastic. The people were generally friendly but the urgency to push products and services was too much. We walked to puka pebble Beach which was very lovely. It was too rough to swim but still nice. Vendors galore as well.
Generally I would say drivers do not care about pedestrians in the Philippines as crossing the ride most tonys is a life changing event. A lot of roads don't have sidewalks and no one to hide so its pretty risky. You have to be quite aggressive or they will push you right of the road. This is the case all over not just here. I'm not sure i would go back as there are lots of other places to visit. Overall good trip of you learn to ignore the pushy vendors. Bring lots of cash. I did manage to do a couple of dives and the visibility was ok on one and terrible on the other. There are lots of activities if you like that kind of thing.

Beautiful island with way too many vendors

You will definitely have a powder-ry welcome drinks. Food will not be for you if you are vegetarian/pescatarian/muslim. Just a small selection. Should you need to use your phone or their wifi? Don’t expect you will have a good signal. There is no signal for your phone at their place. You cannot depend on their wifi.

So.. so..

We stay for 2 nights in this boutique hotel, finding this hotel was quite hard as it was situated in the middle of white Beach and main road. No proper road. You have to go through small alleyway in between other small hotels. The rooms is quite small but enough for a family of three. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Filipino breakfast is good. Will recommend for backpackers. 

Small, Cozy yet hard to find 

It was a great stay! The hotel almost in the beach shore, more like a 2 mins walk which is a plus. Around Station 2 and has many good restaurant to choose from. It has a good breakfast, the hotel is new and clean and the staff were very accommodating.

Accessible and Reliable

I have been spending my yearly birthday celeb here in Boracay and my first time to stay at this hotel.
I love the beds coz it queen size, they do clean the room every day.
You can request for fresh towels and linens with no extra charge. 
Love their free breakfast and they offer complimentary water, not the bottled one (going green!).
Staffs are friendly!❤️

Our family had a great time staying in this hotel. Thank you to all the accommodating staff who assisted us all through out. The entire place is super clean and the room is spacious! Breakfast is good, too! Thank you for making our parents' first Boracay trip memorable. :)

Family friendly accommodation

We booked Chateau de Boracay because we ran out of options as we booked on a peak season. I have read good reviews so we took it anyway. I liked the room. it’s clean but it’s small. the bed we had was sagging on my side and made my sleep uncomfortable. There was also dripping noise heard (we are at room 208) which is most audible at night time when all the noise were gone. It nade my sleep uncomfortable as well.
The breakfast was delicious, typical Filipino breakfast. 
The challenge is finding the location. You need to tell the trike driver to drop you at station 2 at La Carmela de Boracay. From there you have to walk going to the beach front, turn right at Villa de Oro. There is no sign that Chateau is located inside and the right of way is Villa de Oro resort and resto itself. It’s quite a walk going inside on a narrow path where you will pass along spa,
 and other resorts as well. The place is a little noisy because of the nearby resorts and Villa de Oro has this nightly videoke, in which the noise can still be heard.
The room is a bit pricey for us. We booked via Booking.com at more than 5,000 pesos per night for a small room for 4 with two queen beds.

Nice room, good food but challenging location

Good for budget travellers, complete amenities in the room like hair dryer, mini fridge, vault and toiletries, staff are all smart and accommodating, breakfast is generous and there's a variation, FYI if you're in a group with a pwd/senior citizen, ask 1st if there' available rooms in the 1st floor since going to the 2nd floor requires a lot of steps for them which i don't reccommend. This is not a beachfront accommodation but only 2-3mins walk to the beach.

GOOD STAY

The hotel is perfectly located at Station 2 with a great beachfront after a 2-minute walk. We stayed for 2 nights and had great breakfast. The room was clean and nice, bed was huge and comfy, so as well as the CR. There were flat screen TV, table, a chair, safety vault, bottled water, free coffee, mini fridge and h/c shower. Ambiance of the front desk was nice as well. Overall experience was great! :)

Great choice!

The feels inside the room is like you're in a 5star hotel for less. The room is well-maintained. The aircondition is well functioning. The bed and sheets are soft and smooth. Nothing bad that I can say. All is good. There is also blower, refrigerator, a flat screen tv and a couch. :) sooo happy that we chose to stay here instead of other B&Bs. Will definitely go back here again :) Highly recommended :)
