Sevilla House

Sevilla House is on the border of the Miraflores and San Isidros neighourhoods on Calle Sevilla. I stayed there for two nights. My flight arrived early in the morning on a Saturday. By the time I picked up my luggage, went through immigration control and found an ATM it was 2 pm. The taxi ride was about forty minutes. The driver was uncertain where Calle Sevilla, asking me to double check the address, looking at his phone. We did get there eventually. It is a guest house. There are separate bedrooms with bathrooms, a common area and a courtyard. There are no markings at all at the entrance except for a small sign with the name and street. The front is a high wooden fence with an opening. The entrance is locked and you must ring the buzzer to enter. My room was a good size. The bed was comfortable, and the internet worked very well. A note that the electrical plugins are not the best and it is possible to blow out a fuse, which I did. The shower worked well. Water pressure was a little low in the sink, but this type of infrastructure is not always strong in Peru. Early in the morning there was a fair amount of construction noise nearby. There is what is billed as a Continental breakfast, which included juice (artificial), some slices of processed cheese wrapped in plastic, coffee, cereal, and several buns (like Kaiser buns). The people there were very nice and helpful. They arranged an early morning taxi to the airport for me Sevilla House is about a fifteen minute walk from the core part of Miraflores, where you can enjoy Parque Kennedy, and there are tons of restaurants and shops. I bought a local SIM card there for my phone. There is a large well-stocked grocery store on Av. Arequipa a few blocks from Calle Sevilla, which is very convenient. And there was a large market on the same street selling souvenirs, clothing, art, etc. So this is a convenient place to stay for a few nights. It is a good base for exploring the area if you can do a little walking. It is probably a little cheaper than similar places in Miraflores but you can certainly check around and decide.
