Nazca

When you arrive at this hotel you are mer with a feeling of not knowing what to expect. 
The hotel is all on one level but covers a vast area. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. 
Our room was very basic and dated, lack of power sockets. 
The dining room is very dark and not illuminated, saving electricity. The evening meal was basic. Breakfast is not very good. No menu I was offered fried eggs, there is toast and fruit. 
The hotel is very run down and overall very dusty and dirty. I would want to swim in the pool. 
This hotel could be lovely with the right investment and management sadly it is akin to something out of a forgotten era. 

Very run down establishment

An old hacienda, which has been turned into a huge hotel.
Lots of common rooms with couches you can use.
Nice pool with a poolbar.
Very friendly staff which let us keep the room till 9pm!
10 min in a taxi from downtown - but taxis are cheap, so we preferred a quietly place.
Only  one a bit negative comment is there was ants in my bathroom, but this is something they can fix.
A very nice place. We stayed there during the political unrest in Peru and felt very safe. A shame so many tourists stayed away.
I would love to stay here when all tourists are back and there will be lots of people in the beautiful place.

Nice old hacienda!

This accommodation is located well out of town down a long and awful dirt road. Reception staff were nice but we had to chase staff down to get a meal in the restaurant where we were the only people in a huge room. The grounds are lovely, the room was large but there is no air-conditioning. I slept under a damp towel to try to stay cool.

Too far away from the town and the great restaurants.

Stayed here in the family room. Very comfortable, the staff and manager Alfredo very friendly and accomodating.

The location is outstanding. Driving up a dirt road and grotty buildings you enter through a gate into a paradise. Used to be an old monestary, now it is a luxury resort with two swimming pools, a bar, restaurant, beautiful gardens and peacocks!

If you stay in Peru winter, note if you have a bald head like me you may need a hat at night since it can get very cold in the desert.

Relaxed setting for Nazca flight

I have to say that this has been one of the worst experiences ever. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and it is hardly a 1 star. The only positive is that the staff is friendly and the food is good. The hotel may have been a nice place years ago but it is in total disarray. My pictures prove what I state. The rooms are horrible and the bathrooms even worse. In the middle of a desert and no a/c.

One of the worst experiences ever! Stay away and stay at Casa Andina.

This property is rich in history with ancient art, antique furniture, and rich tapestries at every turn. Surrounded by a wall and simple gate, you may think you missed it. However, once you check in with security, you enter several courtyards surrounded by lush tropical gardens and invigorating pool. Our hosts, Enrique and Alexandria speak fluent English and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Yes, it is slightly rustic, but any historic property is a labor of love. With the native charm and attentive staff, we never wanted to leave!! Trust us, this is the ONLY hotel in town that you’ll want to stay in!!!

A TRUE historic oasis in the desert!!

We visited during the pandemic, so the hotel was operating with a fraction of its usual staff. We received excellent service from the hotel's owner--who tended bar, told us about the place, and was generally delightful. Our dinner and drinks were very good, and we certainly wished we had more than one evening there. The art and furnishings in the common areas deserve substantial time to enjoy, as do the beautiful grounds.

While the rooms are typical of  mid-range Peruvian hotels, it would be foolish and missing the point of the place to do anything more than shower and sleep in your room and not enjoy the real attractions the hacienda has to offer.

Spectacular old hacienda and grounds, charming owner

Beautiful historical building full of ancient art in bad shape, charming atmosphere though.  Good bed.  Acceptable wifi. Very poor shower.  Staff not too friendly neither enthousiast.  We asked for a late check out as we had the night bus at 22.00 to Arequipa. First they charged US50, which was exactly the rate at booking.com for one night.  After a discussion, it was reduced to 40 dollars in cash. Just one electrical plug in each room. No airco, no safe, no tv and a noisy fridge.  Lots of mosquitos and sandflies.
All out of walking distance of city center, bad road and the so called hotel shuttle bus is not operated after dark, which is around 18h.
Food was ok but not great, neither cheap.
No idea where this place obtained four stars, it needs a lot of investing before that!

Historical but mediocre

Hotel Majoro is a historic place, with beautiful old tapestries on the wall, a decent dining room, and a fantastic pool. The gallery features fine Peruvian craftsmanship by a consortium of Quechuan artists. What make this a tricky review to write is that the rooms leave something to be desired. Ours was sparse, cold and hard-edged. The bed bordered on uncomfortable, in contrast to other Peruvian mattresses that were supremely comfortable. This may be one of the nicest places in Nazca, but it needs some attention pretty soon. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable or outstanding.

Tricky to summarize

I loved the feel of this place just a shame we only had one night here after visiting the Nazca lines.  Would love to have spent some time by the pool.
Room and shower were fine.  The dining room is beautiflly decorated and so is the library.  
The only negative was the poolside bar was completly understaffed when our group arrived. Not sure how they roster knowing that more than one group is passing through at the same time and this place is not close to anything else.  In the true traveller spirit we all laughed off the very long wait for service the must try Pisco Sour
