La Casa de Karla

For us this was a stop over on our way north. We needed something close to the Oltursa bus terminal and found that La Casa de Karla did the trick. It is about a 15 min taxi to the bus terminal and a 20 min walk to Miraflores. It was a little tricky to find, as there is no signage out the front, however the building is numbered. We found the main gate was unlocked, but paged from there anyway, and were welcomed in to the correct apartments. The receptionist was very friendly on our arrival, and spoke basic English. There are many stairs to the rooms, so keep this in mind if you have heavy bags. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was a kitchen and rooftop terrace which we could use. Great for afternoon beers. The room itself was basic, with bed and desk, but surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Only issue was with the hot water. We couldn't work out the system and at best had warm water. Towels were provided. We were advised that the area was safe to walk around, and we did, and had no problems. However taxis and public bus seem to pass by often.
