Teko Arte Hostel & Bar

Great location near the park. Staff very friendly and helpful organizing/providing transportation. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant. The staff were wonderful, so polite and helpfull. Walking distance to the centre, the hostel itself was paradise, hamocks, flowing water and beautiful garden. Couldn´t fault it. Only problem was the dog that kept pissing everywhere but you can´t blame the hostel for that! Can´t recommend it highly enough (and I´ve stayed in quite a few places in South America!)

This hostel is located about 20 minutes walking from the bus stop in the center. When I was there, there were no other guests, so not much atmosphere. The beds have comfortable mattresses, but since they are covered with plastic it makes a bit of noise when turning. Place is clean and staff is friendly.

Had the place to myself

This hostel had a bad impression from the start. We had to put the linens on our beds ourselves, the dorm room was in shambles (plaster falling off the walls, very few plug-ins, nowhere to hang things, the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned in a while, and it was a 10 bed dorm despite being advertised as an 8 bed dorm). The door to our dorm room had a broken handle so we couldn’t close or lock the door, there are no lockers in the rooms to store stuff, and the overall cleanliness was minimal. They have a cleaner, but it doesn’t seem like they come by every day to clean. 

The breakfast is basic, just toast and coffee. The wifi is public only and doesn’t work in the dorm rooms. 

There is also a bar near by so it does get very loud at night, so ear plugs are a must!

The only positive is the hostel owner refunded our last night despite giving less than 24hours notice that we were leaving early (we couldn’t do another night at this place). 

Overall if you just need one night in Ciudad Del Este than this place is doable, but no more than one night. 

Don’t recommend 

Unfortunately, a local party in the hostel kept us out of our sleep until after 04:00h am. 

Loud men where screeming and laughing downstairs, whilst the even louder music was shaking us in our beds. 

I recommend you take one of the other hundreds of hostels/hotels in the area, no reason to stay here.

Loud music and noise to 4:15 am

Totally overpriced compared to all the other hostels in Paraguay and also the place looks like a mess. Better to head over to Brazil where the hostels charge just half of the prices here in Ciudad del Este.
