Delicious food and beautiful view. We stayed 5 nights in the bungalow Bambito.
Lovely place at the feet of amazing trails !
Many monkeys and birds (if you are lucky you can even see quetzals and big cats) !

Wonderful place, great stay ! 

We had the most incredible honeymoon, spending five unforgettable nights at the Treehouse of Mount Totumas. We made many lasting memories.

The staff here is absolutely wonderful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food is absolutely incredible! We ate all our meals at the restaurant, and trust me, not a single morsel was left behind. The flavors were incredible.

The lodge itself was a great place to unwind. They had a nice collection of books and games, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. It's a paradise for birdwatchers too, with all sorts of colorful birds to spot.

One of the highlights was the hiking. There are nine different trails to explore, and we managed to see all but one. Each trail was unique, and we were blown away by the beauty of the cloud forest. But if there's one trail you shouldn't miss, it's the Big Tree Loop. It was truly something special.

We are already looking forward to going back!

The best highland experience in Panama

This is a great place to see birds. The rooms are so comfortable. The owners couldn't have been kinder and are so passionate about improving the environment. The food was also healthy and very tasty. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Fantastic place for birdwatching

We are not birders but stayed here for 3 nights on a 3 week trip of Panama. I really wish it had been 4 nights. This is such a beautiful place; the views are absolutely stunning, the birds you will see and the people really make it. With 3 nights you will have 2 full days, I think 3 full days would be better to explore the different trails, watch some glorious wildlife and perhaps take advantage of 1 or 2 guided visits or take the coffee tour. 

The lodgings are simple but have everything you need, the food delicious and the hummingbirds so beautiful. We saw quetzal, bellbirds and many more as well as some monkeys, squirrels, lizards etc. 

Also the coffee is delicious and owners are highly Eco conscious. Such a stunning, beautiful location full of beauty and tranquility. 

Paradise

At the Mount Totumas lodge you feel the passion for nature in everything. The owner is tryely passionate about the cloud forest and shares his enthusiasm in a catching way. They have their own guide, Reynaldo, and he is the best!! He is super friendly and patient and sees, hears and knows all the birds.  Walking with him is so rewarding, even if you are no die hard birder.  The food in the restaurant is fresh, tasty and healthy.  The lodge is a bit noisy, but nothing good eat plus can't solve.  Visit this wonderful place if you can, you will not regret it!!

Birding in the cloud forest

Felt very lucky to stay at this hotel - even if it was only for two nights. Could easily have stayed for longer. The owners make you feel like family and the setting is just fabulous. Getting there by 4WD is part of the experience and although the rooms are relatively basic that is quite in keeping with the wonderful setting. The food is fabulous but at the end of the day it was the owners and the rest of the staff who make this place as special as it is.

A hidden gem of a hotel

My husband and I spent a perfect six days here. The setting is magnificent, with an incredible variety of birds. There are numerous trails that one can hike on one's own.  Another worthwhile option is to go with a guide, who will make the experience even better, spotting many creatures that would otherwise go unseen.
The accommodations are excellent and the meals delicious and plentiful.
It is wonderful to see what a special place Jeffrey, Alma and Karin have created and their passion for the environment.

Planning to Be Back!

This place is THE ONE if you enjoy being around nature. There are various trails to visit and the variety of plants and animals is wide.

The food is delicious and the coffee is on point. The attention from the personel is exceptional. Highly recomended.

Everything in this place is a 20/10

Our 4 day stay at My Totumas in April 2022 was amazing!  The accommodations, food, guide and staff were all excellent. We were made to feel like part of the family by owner, Jeff, and the staff.  The lodge is remote and surrounded by forest, birds and monkeys.  The lodge itself has multiple hummingbird feeders and you can enjoy many species of hummingbird birds right from your seat in the lodge! 
Special thanks to Jeff for his attention and time during our stay.  We would highly recommend Mt Totumas!

Perfect Cloud Forest Retreat!

What an incredible place. The lodge is situated deep in the forest, making you feel truly secluded. It felt so cozy and the staff take such great care of you. Alma made sure we were fed well, cooking up some of the best food I’ve ever had (those pancakes!). She even went above and beyond to get me a glass of naranjilla juice before I departed, meaning so much because I don’t know when I’ll get to have my favorite drink again! After exhausting days, the balanced meals were seriously much appreciated. And fantastic coffee.

Reinaldo guided us during our time there and worked tirelessly to help us spot our targets. He took us on a rigorous 8 hour walk, helping us cross rivers, taking us to sulfur pools, showing us big cat tracks. It was so memorable. He even got me a Resplendent Quetzal, which I didn’t think I was going to get! He is truly gifted with his ears, eyesight, and calls. And patient to boot.

The accommodation was above what you would expect in a place so remote. You have all of your comforts. Just hanging around the lodge itself is a great experience. The views are unbeatable. 

Jeffrey and the whole team have a wonderful thing here. This is the place to be for a true nature experience while being completely spoiled.
