A very nasty experience, we booked at this place through booking.com and the cost for 2 double rooms was PKR10040 including tax, however upon arrival they decided to give us the family suite, which is basically a standard 2 bedroom apartment, the receptionist was a young chap who had no clue what was going on and just gave us the keys and said you can pay in the morning. The apartment was on the second floor and no elevators/lifts or escalators. therefore getting luggage up there was one hell of a job.

Immediately after opening the door I realised we were in the wrong place, even our rental car driver was appalled to see the state of the rooms. they were very mediocre at the least.

Later on at around 20:00 the receptionist came with a card machine and asked for payment. I informed him that we will only stay the night and check out the following day, he said I will have to check with my manager about that since your booking is for 2 nights, the manager asked me to cancel the booking through Booking.com which I did then instructed the receptionist to Charge me PKR12000 plus 4000 security deposit, when I questioned the amount in comparison to B.com the receptionist said thats because we ave upgraded you to a family suite, I asked him if I had requested a family suite which he said no we dont have rooms that why we upgraded you, I told him this was their problem not mine why should i pay for a suite that I never wanted, he call the manager and the manager changed his statement, he said t was because B.com was going to charge them commission for my cancelation, which when I argued he said it was a penalty that I had to pay for canceling the next day. at this point I just gave up and decided to do away with them.

There seems to be a common problem in Pakistan, they lie to you about everything.

Avoid this place, there are far better places in Islamabad with much less cost and much better service.

Total Rip Off

It's good. Location and peaceful. Everything avaliable in a near distance. Me and my family  enjoyed there. When you have work in Britain Town it's going to be good choice but they have to improve there promises. Otherwise every thing is ok.

The purpose of this review is not to disparage the Intellectual Inn but to inform the potential guests of what they can expect.

My family booked three rooms here recently for one night. Upon arrival we were severally disappointed by the exterior of the Inn as it is like any other small commercial plaza with shops on the ground floor. There is no private parking available. We had to park our cars on the street in front of the Inn and they don't even employ any guards. However, the Inn is situated in a good area that is close to a gas station, Green Valley (grocery store), the McDonalds and other smaller eateries etc. 

The Inn is on the 1st & 2nd floor and consists of a central sitting+dining area on both floors with 4 bedrooms around it and a kitchenette in the corner. The rooms were good sized though and were clean. Each room had a small balcony but the views on all sides are of buildings, construction areas and empty lots.

The things we did not like were that: bathrooms were very small; rooms were not at all sound proof, slippers were available in some rooms but not all, and the biggest drawback for us was that the management does not provide any ironing stand; the complimentary breakfast was very average, served very late and very slowly in piecemeal fashion. 

Only one 500ml water bottle was provided for each room and the rest had to be purchased if we were thirsty. This is not standard practice in most hotels I have stayed in Pakistan, however it wasn't a big issue for us. 

However, we did like the fact that the kitchenette was very accessible; the equipment and supplies to make tea/coffee were free of charge; the staff was polite and service was good. 

Overall the Intellectual Inn would be a good place for a single person or a couple who needs a place to crash for a night. Since the Inn is located in an area far from the main Rawalpindi City or Islamabad City therefore is not recommended to those who want to be close to the city centres. We only stayed cuz our original booking at another place had been cancelled at the last moment and we desperately needed a place to crash in the vicinity of Bahria Town.
