Just arrived from a fantastic holiday in Oman. Our days in Muscat, in Aywa Guest House, have been sooo nice and fun. Thanks to Ali, our splendid host, and his friends, always ready to help, party and chill in the hostel's terrace. We where sleeping in a comfortable room for four people, with share bathroom. 
We'll be back, inchallah!

If you look for a back packers' accommodation or simple room in Muscat, this is your place. The rooms are spacious, clean, the bed is good, bathroom clean and ac and ceiling fan working. There is a well equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee and a drinking water well.   The free wifi is working most of the time, there is a nice common room with tv and an outdoor space. If you have alcoholic beverage, do not store it in the common fridge, it may disappear

For those who look for an authentic Omani experience and a fabulous human ambiance

Perfect place to stay overnight - no frills

It's a great place to stay  if your on tight budget , very economical stay . the room was comfortable but had minimum amenties , dont expect much . Bathroom was very cleaned , they also provided towels . They had a 24*7 working kitchen  and had tea / coffee and water for free . if your on very tight budget then this place is for you .

In this expensive Muscat city, it's difficult  find out a decent (certainly not fancy) room just to sleep over after landing and you would be ready to take up all challenges for your trip in Oman. But the first challenge rather a big struggle, was this Aywa guest house! None was picking up the phone to guide us and the cab driver didn't know even the place.  Nobody was there to welcome us. When the host ( a very tired Indian who can hardly speak English) opened the door of our room, it was a disaster! The room was dirty (such as  hairS on the mattress, no bedsheets, toilet not clean w/o light). We were there with our kids...you can imagine the ambiance. We finally decided to book a room in another hotel.. To be fair, the owner Ali decided to drop us to the hotel and was very kind once he knew our decision. Another important point: you are in a middle of nowhere. To catch a cab you must be lucky.
