The house is some 100 meters outside of the old town. Wlcome was heartly, but later on the east-asian staff left the impression not to be really happy there.
Over all it is too expensive. The rooms are minimalistic; the upperfloor bathroom strongly needs to be renewed; the food was - mildly expressed- uninteresting. 
only goal: the location inside the oasis itself.


Not my first choice, if i would ever come back again ..

Definitely one of the most "original" experiences made during the trip. The main building (where you have breakfast and dinner) is very typical. The "rooms" provide "sufficient" comfort, and some of them have also a small private bathroom with a shower. You will stay in the midst of a palm plantation, surrounded by aflaj that are full of water or not, according to seasonality. The dinner was good, the breakfast was disturbed by tens of flies. Definitely a must!

Typical

Not cheap, but what you get is a “feeling” that is priceless. Family owned and run, the price includes delicious Omani dinner each night and a great breakfast, and the opportunity to stay in a traditional room in a traditional Omani village. The village where the home is located is super charming (and the home is in the center of the village). Service is instinctive and seamless, and the staff are perfect (better than 5 star hotels). 

Ps, food is excellent - it is soft on your stomach and traditional and healthy. Have no idea why some of the other reviews say otherwise!

Special experience in a special village

I really love this place. Hotel is in a small, picturesque, old Omani town surrounded by palm grove. Owner and a crew were really nice and helpful. Nice dinner and breakfast. Will be back there for sure one day :)

If you look for a real Omani experience it’s a place you should go!

OMG - Misfat Al Abreen is an awesome place. Never been there before and I was amazed. This hotel is located on top of a mountain and that is where the village is located.
The hotel is so cozy and purely traditional. 

We were surrounded with nature which was amazing. Sound of birds, donkeys lol. Make sure you go during the cool season.. it makes a lot of difference when the weather is cooler! 

The Omani host was very friendly and helpful. He accommodated all of us (6) in such a hospitable way. The room came with dinner and breakfast which was a bonus.

The room had 5 clean, comfortable mattresses that fit all of us 6..

The village was super clean.. Excellent signs everywhere which was impressive even for us Omanis. Clean public bathrooms (wow) 

All in all the hotel is a 5 star!

Wonderful house with beautiful rooms in the middle of the old village surrounded by Falaj and date palms - great reception by Jacob who gave us super recommendations. Went on a fantastic hike to wadi ghoul and al khateem

Beautiful house in traditional village

When visiting this nice place in the mountains you have to stay at Misfa Old House. It's got spacious rooms and fabulous food and is a good base when you plan to do some walking or go up to visit the canyon

Authentic place to stay

Misfah Old House was the ideal choice for staying close to the walks we wanted to do. The rooms were simple and fairly small but were perfect for a short term stay. They were set in a beautiful and tranquil garden. They provided breakfast and dinner and both we found to be very good. Misfah village itself is well worth a good explore and provided you respect the local people and culture we found everyone to be very welcoming. 

Well run operation

It's lying mid way on the trail down the mountain. It's basically a tea and coffe shop with a local twist.Not even anything to eat.You can only absorb the local ambience of this place .I felt a little irritated and possibly disseminated against  when he did not allow us to go to the top to take pictures stating that it's only meant for guests but allowed another couple on the top almost immediately. Really don't know what would he lose if he let us go up and take a few pics.

Nice place see ..Not a restaurant

Misfah Old House is a very special and unique place to stay at with very friendly staff. The location is beautifully located in the old town of Misfah and and offers a stunning view over the mountains and lots of lush palm trees. The rooms are basic but it’s a great experience to stay in a traditional Omani house. WiFi only starts at 7pm.
