I had booked an overnight stay here after completed Cykelvasa (mountain bike event) and I was pleasantly surprised.

Perfect "cycling hotel" if you want to stay centrally in Trysil village.
The hotel, which is unstaffed, is a good budget hotel with very comfortable beds. The hotel has stable internet and very good bicycle storage (and bicycle washing) as well as good parking facilities.
The breakfast buffet is not huge, but it is sufficient, the food is of high quality and the bread is freshly baked. Perfect for a day of mountain biking.
The staff is very nice and helpful.

Adjacent to the hotel is a good restaurant with its own microbrewery.

The hotel is worth its price!

A positive surprise

We stayed in Trysil hotel and drove the 5 minutes up to the ski slopes for the last week of the ski season including the festival on the slopes and in town. This was agreat way to see some culture of Norway that staying in a ski apartment wouldn’t. We were a group of 5 fifty something British men.
Trysil hotel is excellent for a group like this with the the bakery, craft beers and easy automated check in. It is cool without trying to be too flash/posh, it is simple and provides the basics in the room well, the staff are friendly and helped us make the most of our stay in the town.
We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the breakfasts each day.

A great place to stay for the ski festival

When I arrived after 4 pm I still hadn’t gotten the code to let me into my room. The rooms were still being cleaned they told me when I called and asked, I got a code soon after the call. 

I asked for a quiet room in my reservation but I got a room on the ground level with the parking lot directly outside the windows. The door out to the corridor was not blocking any sounds so I got to hear plenty from the other guests conversations and struggles to enter their room codes...

The room was ok apart from the above noise issue. The breakfast was delivered in a bag, due to the corona situation, and was poor. The bread was pretty newly baked but the rest of the content was underwhelming - not even a tea bag! I had my hope up since there was a water boiler in the room. 

Ok but no more

Trysil is a ski town near the Swedish border, I just needed somewhere comfortable and convenient on my way north. Booked online and got a text telling me how to access my room. There was no front desk so I had a number code for the doors. Breakfast is upstairs at the café next door and is of restricted hours. I ate in the Pub which is in the same building and that was quite nice.

Handy

This hotel is made with good taste. Nice lounge area with a really good restaurant/bar. It is possible to get to the ski area by the ski bus, but we just parked our car close to T2/T5. It is a small hotel, but since we are all here to ski it covers our needs perfectly. 

Fantastic cosy hotel with great breakfast - value for money 

Hotel completely without services and no reception. It's like being in a prison. Sleep quality shoes for continuous noise during the night caused by air conditioning and other things.

Don 't come back!

We stayed here during our skiing holiday. It is a good hotel. Good stuff is. Free easy parking, ski bus right outside the hotel. In the center of the small village, close to some restaurants and some shops. The rooms are quite nice, and the bathroom is okay. The breakfast is small but delicious. Everything really feels freshly made and it is easy to eat too much:)

Sadly, and quite inexplicable there is no tea and coffee facilities. So you need to bring your own kettle, and really why? Just raise the room price with 1 EUR for 20 days and the kettle is paid. 
There was no room cleaning during our stay. This is nothing we saw anything about until after the booking. The cleaning I can live without but I would really like to get the towels changed after a few days. I am sure it could be arranged by calling someone, but I would like to get these without calling. There is a restaurant in the hotel but also inexplicable no meny anywhere. I assume there is one in the restaurant but I like to see the new beforehand to get an idea on the menu. So I cannot rate the restaurant.

If I ever stayed in a hotel in trysil I would be glad to stay here. But form my viewpoint Trysil is very expensive when it comes to food and drinks so I would go for self catering next time.

Overall good hotel with some minor issues

Very comfortable modern hotel and the micro brewery, patisserie and restaurant are all excellent. It was great unwinding after a days skiing sat by the roaring fire and sampling the ales!
Would definitely stay again.

Ski Holiday 

We have just had a 6 night family ski trip over Christmas at Trysil Hotel. We (parents and 3 kids late teen - early twenties) all loved our stay here. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help with anything you require. If you are looking for the corporate experience then this is not the place for you. However if you want a small family friendly hotel, great food and drink (not the fast food options on the slopes) then we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
We liked the no reception concept, keypad with code for the rooms was great as no need to worry about a key! The rooms are minimalist in design but warm and cozy, with comfortable beds and great shower. Breakfast in the attached bakery/ coffee shop was really fantastic with freshly made bread, scones, cheese, meats, fruit, yoghurt, granola, fresh juices etc. The restaurant and microbrewery in the hotel, Kveik, has only just re-opened under the current owners and the food and beer is first class. We had two vegetarians in our family and these were very well catered for too. Prices are very reasonable for the area and there are other good restaurants just a short walk away.
We hired a car and drove to the slopes each day leaving our skis in a locker right next to the ski school meeting place. Boot room at the hotel was great. If you don’t have a car, the ski bus stops right outside. There are two supermarkets and several shops just a short walk away. 
We all hope to return to Trysil and will most definitely stay here when we do.

Super friendly hotel

At Trysil for work, I found myself staying 5 nights in this hotel, very convenient as a location, the all-automatic check-in and check-out mechanism with code received via SMS. Everything works perfectly, the structure is warm and cozy, the room is quite spacious, the wifi is fast and easy to set up. In the morning breakfast is served in a hotel-side facility, quite varied in the proposals. Personally I consider this stay as a positive experience in the complex and in the price/quality of the hotel.
