Trolltunga Guesthouse

Location: Less than 8km from P-2(Trolltunga parking). Pleasant view from the balcony.

Rooms: Large enough for 4 persons, so was the toilet and bathroom (we got one tailored for the physically challenged, hence, was even more spacious). All appliances worked well.

Service: This is the best part. Quick, efficient, and hospitable reception (I believe they are the owners). We had to check-out a day early than the booked span, still, they generously refunded. I couldn't thank the owners personally as we were in a hurry due to an unplanned cancellation of the rest of the trip.

If you wish to visit Trolltunga, I wholeheartedly recommend this accomodation.

The guy who runs the guesthouse might be the kindest man you meet in Norway, so nice and availability! The place is so well organized, clean and spacious, facilities and location are perfect, ideal for the Trolltongue hiking. indeed a great experience, warmly recommended

We booked Trolltunga Guesthouse for two nights in order to give us two possible days to hike to Trolltunga.  The reviews and location were the main reasons we booked the Guesthouse as its between town and the trailhead.  There is a bus service outside the guesthouse to Trolltunga, but we drove to the parking lot at the trailhead.  The friendly hardworking owner is what makes this a great place to stay.  I called ahead after realizing one of us did not bring rain pants and the owner made sure we had a pair to rent.  He also reviewed the weather with us before we arrived as we were exploring contingency plans of coming a day later.  We ended up coming on time after reviewing multiple websites and he told us the locals most trusted source out of all them.  I wish I could remember it. (I have used yr.no for Iceland, Tour du Mont Blanc and New Zealand fjord lands with really good results, as well as others saying they used it.).  In the end, we ended up going on the second day, our backup day.  The forecast showed the sun was suppose to break through around midday, so we started our day an hour later than planned.  Fortunately, the clouds cleared just as we got to Trolltunga.  

Additionally, he told us they had just started to taking parking reservations for the upper Trolltunga P3 parking lot, which was only NOK 100 more than the lower lot.  We paid the extra money despite having seats reserved on the shuttle bus from the lower lot. The flexibility was worth the extra money.

The guesthouse was nice and adequate for people looking for a place to spend the night before hiking to Trolltunga.  It is nothing fancy and we did not explore town much, but it does not seem like you would not find upscale accommodations.  The room we got was a little different than we expected as we had booked a one bedroom apartment and instead stayed in a studio that was wheelchair accessible.  I believe it was a required conversion to meet government regulations.  The guesthouse also had laundry next to the bunks rooms, which took a couple hours and not something we are used to in North America.  The lobby has a small store to buy food.  Parking at the guesthouse is limited with several spaces reserved for electric vehicles, but we always got a spot.  We would recommend this guesthouse and would stay here again.

room was very clean.with a insane view to the mountain..kitchen very clean.bathroom olso..the owner of the hotel mister Ulu was very kind with us and helpful .he give me hiking boots for hiking trolltunga..which i really appreciate it.i recomend to everyone to rest in this beautiful hotel which is very close to trolltunga

The apartment had plenty of room, a decent private bathroom and a breathtaking view.
The kitchen was comfortable and the filter coffee machine awesome :)
The only thing that made a weird impression to me, is the price for renting extra linens and a pillow: 200 noks per person... approximately 20 euros extra. Too  expensive!
However, i believe that it depends on the person that’s at the reception, wether he/she wants to actually help or not.
Overall, the place is recommended! Certainly worth staying there and waking up with that view!

A nice place. The rooms have a stunning view overlooking the surrounding nature and the town. The trail for Trolltunga - a popular photo place is nearby and the guesthouse offers a service of getting you to it. The staff are friendly and helpful.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at Trolltunga Guesthouse. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable- we slept like babies! The apartment had all the amenities we could want and the view from our room was spectacular. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We stayed in an apartment and the lobby has a nice selection of snacks. We used the guesthouse as a base for hiking trolltunga, and it is an extremely good location for that. The owner gave us travel advice and had weather reports printed out. It is also convenient for exploring Odda, a cute little town that had the sports equipment we needed, and latefossen, a beautiful waterfall, was just a short drive away. I don’t know if I’ll ever be crazy enough to hike trolltunga again, but if I’m back in the area I would definitely stay again. 

There is limited parking out front, and 3 of the 6 spots are reserved for Teslas. 

Checking in was a breeze. In the lobby, there are lots of snacks and foods for purchase (ramen, meats, chips, ect).

The dorm rooms are separated out and each dorm has a bathroom (with shower). Each dorm I think has 8 beds. The key is for the building, the room, and there's a smaller key for a locker. The locker won't fit a full luggage, but it will fit a decent sized backpack.

Each dorm bed has a plastic bag with bedding (pillow, blanket, face towel, shower towel). 

The kitchen was fully equipped. A few electrical appliances like electric kettle and electric pots? There were 2 electric stove tops and all the cook ware pots and pans. There are also utensils. What I didn't see were napkins though.

Overall, this is a great spot to stay if you're going to visit Trolltunga!

We had an apartment for two nights to use as a base for the Trolltunga hike, and it was ideal. Free parking, good Wi-Fi, easy check in/out. Pretty nice view. Plenty of space to move around - and to dry wet clothes!

Kitchen was well equipped (no toaster but there’s a grill) with a useful supply of salt/pepper/oil and tea/coffee/sugar. 

They have a deal with the hotel nearby - a free glass of local cider and 10% off food in the restaurant.
