We stayed here for one night and rented a two bedroom cottage with one bedroom on the first floor (bunk bed) and three matresses in the atic. 
We loved the cottage and nature outside. The cottage seemed freshly painted in a vibrant orange colour which I simply adored. We had our own parking space next to the cottage which was great!
The terrace was nice and spcious. The cottage was really cosy and very clean. The area around was very open and peaceful. We regretted not staying there longer. Will definitely come back here and recommend it to others! It’s a 16 min drive to Geiranger center.

Amazing place and lovely cottage

Family of four spent one night in the fancy tents (lavvo) at Dalen Gaard Camping. This was our first time in a lavvo and our first experience with "glamping". The lavvo was super nice, spacious and had an elegant and cozy look. The beds were the best we had during our 11 day round trip of Norway. Thick duvet with a woolen blanket on top kept us warm during the entire night.

The location of the camping grounds are gorgeous, smack in the middle of the valley, looking up at Dalsnibba viewpoint and with a waterfall as the "next door neighbor". 

Shared showers and restroom facilities were kept clean at all times. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and we enjoyed our time at Dalen Gaard to the fullest. If we return to Geiranger, we will definitely choose to return to the lavvo as well :)

The best bed of our holiday

First impression we got was riding the gravel road into the campingsite, through a meadow of yellow flowers and the mountains raising up in the background. It was a aww-striking moment! The picturesque landscape is absolutely stunning!

The cabin was a 4 people cabin, with a large bathroom with shower, a kitchen with everything you need to make food. The staff was very polite and helpful!

I can absolutly recommend this site to everyone. Even tho it is a short trip from the city center I'd rather stay here!

Beautifull location short trip from city center!

We were here on 16 July for 3 nights. Its located in a picturesque location with mountain back ground. Just opposite on crossing the road there is a huge waterfall. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet were very clean the owners are very nice and friendly and they arrange everything so fast. This place is so calm and nice to stay in Cabins or your tents and I highly recommend it to all.

Embedded between mountains.

Found this gem while road-tripping around the Southwestern fjords and I cannot recommend enough if you want to be close to Geiranger but wanted to avoid the crowds. We traveled in early June so the cruise ship and tour bus crowds were minimal but still present. We were originally going to stay on one of the waterfront campsites in Geiranger but the campervans were essentially side-by-side and it looked too claustrophobic for our taste. Instead, we found this place and drove into Geiranger and had the viewpoint all to ourselves at around 10pm (land of the midnight sun!) and then came back to our campsite to enjoy the mountain view in peace and quiet. Also, the showers and bathrooms are incredibly clean with excellent water pressure.

The hosts were excellent before we even arrived, messaging us with information about mountain pass closures and alternative routes.  

When we arrived, we found the huts in a pretty valley a few miles from the Geiranger Fjord.  We sat on the hut's covered porch and watched the stars come out.  

The huts are basic but have a fully operational kitchen and good shower room (the shower was surprisingly good!).  They were beautifully quiet and we slept really well.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay at Daalen gard because of bad weather and closed road, but I can still vouch for how good it would be because the owner called me herself to tell that the roads to the campsite are closed and I wouldn't be able to check in. She guided me through different ways to make it if I wish to and answered my calls patiently. She voluntarily refunded all of my money quoting it was ki fault of mine. How incredible is that! You're awesome and I'd love to stay here next time. Tusen takk!

Friendly owner

The cottages are super nice and cozy! Really beautiful and roomy, fully equipped with kitchen facilities and nice views over the mountains. The staff was incredible! Both the receptionist and the owner were very kind and friendly with us, they helped us a lot with checking closed roads when we thought we could not get out due to heavy snow ..we can only recommend it!

Beautiful camping with cozy cottages

Beautiful newly renovated cabins, bright room and comfortable beds, kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook. Table and bench in front of the cabin outdoors. Near a forest that this season was full of mushrooms and blueberries.
