This so called hotel was the worst hotel ever! The coversheets were ripped. It was filthy in the room, bathroom, shower. In front of our door we found an injection needle from somebody. The person working there did not understand any english and was wicked unfriendly. But my Arabic is like at zero to be able to talk to him. Heating inside the room was almost impossible. The entire hotel was at 16 degrees celsius. The price we paid for this place is like stealing money. I would rate this crapy place with a negativ 5 stars.

The location is the only great place - just in the center of Kirkines and literally next door to the taxi service. Overall we stayed there just 6 hours waiting for our late evening flight after we disembarked from Hurtigruten and this place served the needs we had: leave the luggage while we had a walk in the town, had some short nap and have access to bathroom. The check-in and out was pretty quick and hassle free. Overall it was ok for couple of hours, but I would not stay there overnight. 

We arrived a little earlier and we were given a choice of a room with shared bathroom immediately or our room with en-suite bathroom. As we stayed only for 6 hours overall (during the day) we decided it would be fine to get the available room. However, we found the shared bathroom to be rather dirty and on another floor. The common room was full of people loudly speaking, warming food, etc. The room was tiny, but it was ok for us. Overall it felt a hostel rather than a hotel.

Just OK for couple of hours...

This establishment was run totally by a group of male Muslim men. You are met with emotionless faces that look at you with suspicion rather than welcome.
This non-existence of customer service and emotionless faces will continue throughout your stay.
This experience made me and my wife feel very uneasy. Especially when a guy sits in the dark at reception and looks at you through a metal shutter.
We had a situation when 20 or more men arrived cooking food and taking it to a basement room with no consideration for any guests (The whole hotel stunk of food). Some of them occupied the rooms. 
I could not get this feeling out of my head that this establishment had dual purposes. A very seedy strange atmosphere.
There is no food for guests at this place and very little cooking facilities. No bowls, a few plates and a little cutlery. However, there is a microwave.
Rooms are tired and a little dirty. However, we did have clean bed linen.
Bathrooms unclean but shower had plenty of hot water.
Wires are visible in every room. I really don’t know how this place can pass a health and safety inspection.
The establishment is next to a taxi office in the centre of town. The taxi drivers use the hotel.
To sum up. I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of the place.

What this hotel may lack in facilities it more than compensates with exceptional good service and willingness to please the customer.

The night watchman got up early and bought and prepared us breakfast before going to school, and this despite the hotel not offering breakfast.

Exceptionally good service

We visited Kirkenes and stayed in the Barents Frokosthotel. To be honest there are some things that can change for better impressions but we enjoyed every moment of our stay. 

The coffee and tea were always available and the breakfast in the morning was like self serving but very nice.

Good clean rooms and towels very nice. Always hot water and now that I think back Barents Frokosthotel you were a bit of a rough diamond on first impression but after day 3 you show your bright side! 

We will come back! 

Rough diamond

Very clean, no one at reception when we arrived early. Breakfast was dry cereal and milk BUT bathroom floor was heated, and heater for room was very good. Kitchen tidy. Overall, a less expensive alternative that is okay.

When our party of fou arrived, the manager told us the hotel was fully booked. He said he had arranged accommodations at another hotel and would drive us there. We had no choice but to go with him. Three blocks from there he drove us to an ATM  and insisted we get cash to pay for the hotel- we refused! He then proceeded to drive us to the “other” hotel which was actually a basement apartment in some house a mile away. We refused and said we wanted to go back and figure this out for ourselves. We did not use this reservation and you should ban this hotel from your website. What a horrible experience to end a long day of traveling with:

Toilets filthy. Receptionist absent for most time. Management is by arrogant Syrian immigrants working part time.Sell it or shut it.

We stayed 1 night after the getting off the cruise and the husky attraction at the snow hotel. 

Make no mistake, this is not high quality accommodation, but it is clean and breakfast was plentiful and fresh. 

Reception was unattended when we arrived, but there was a key and note and my son’s name and room No. Nothing for the parents room.  Anyway, got sorted quite quickly, and if you can tolerate ‘dorm style’ shared bathroom & toilet with the rest of the floor, it’s ok. 

These blokes look to be trying to improve things - there were cupboard benches stacked ready for installation in our floor’s common kitchen. 

It provided my family with a haven from the -7’C overnight temperature in 2 rooms, and lounge room & kitchenette for about A$300.

And, I got to see the Aurora over the bay about 100m outside the door. 

It’s central to town. 150m to the bus, taxi is literally next door. 

I’d stay there again, but don’t go in with high expectations. 

Budget Hotel

My name was not on their list, however, when I Showed my confession from Expedia I got a room.Pretty cold.Had to share restroom and shower.Nobody emptied the dustbin the first morning and not the second morning.
