Among the best of the holidays  large bungalow, beautiful location on the portico, terrace with bbq and dining tables, large kitchens with living areas available for 10 pax (bungalow from 6) single double rooms single sink one bathroom  for the rest really nice Global vote 7+

Beautiful and recommended, clean and spacious, perfect location.

Arrived with no check in instructions. Had to call from the dark and very cold. Man who answered the phone was unfriendly. Finally got the code to the keybox. Room was dark and cold. Fuse had blown out. Turned fuse back on and it kept going out the entire 5 nights I was there. About 5-6 times a day, during the night. Would wake up in middle of night freezing and have to go turn the fuse back on. There is no physical reception, you have to call for anything. And of course, they never picked up for me to try and get another unit. You have been forewarned!! This place is AWFUL!

This Place is Awful!

I'm still writing the review at this facility. My wife and I booked two nights from January 1st to 3rd, the room is nice and furnished, the wi-fi even though it's in the facility doesn't work, but the biggest problem and the reason I'm writing this review is that there is no reception and no kind of assistance.

Organization of the absent and bad structure.

This is a quick turn-over hostel that does what it's supposed to do: provide adequate accommodation near the centre of Kabelvag, including shared kitchen and bathroom. I felt the price was rather high for the basic facilities. You are notified by text or email as to which room you are staying in on the day of your arrival. I stayed there many days because Kabelvag is convenient for getting around Lofoten by bus.

It was old (not in the cozy way) and dirty. The room looked like it just got a «quick clean» and the bathrooms were nasty. The toilet was leaking water and there was dust everywhere. Didnt look like someone had cleaned it propery in a while. The only good side is that it had a great view.

Dirty

It is really nice. Nothing luxurious but has everything you need. It is cozy and in front of the lighthouse and the ocean with a nice terrace. Really recommended and within cheapest rorbuers in Lofoten!

Nice and cozy!

We were there in the winter and had the house number five. The location is brilliant and beautiful. We were lucky enough to see crazy great northern lights right above us in two nights. The cooling technology is all you need, but it's very old. The heating is unfortunately not enough. But the landlord is very friendly and brings back an additional heating. The WLan is not usable.

That's very clever.

Compared to the other rorbuers used at the Lofoten, this one has maintained a more mountainous and typical atmosphere. Despite this the rooms are cozy, and directly on a small bay on Kabelvag, a small centre not far from Svolvaer.

Old style.

+ Spacious and clean apartments. Good location and acceptable price. Comfortable beds. The state of the kitchen, rotten and small furniture for an apartment that can accommodate more than 8 people. There is no TV and the wifi will be regular. The apartment in the beds are in high condition, there is no feeling of comfort from the distribution and decoration.

Correct though they could give more.

We booked this accommodation on a short notice on ”high season”, and as we travelled with a dog we didn’t have much to choose from. I rarely give negative feedback/comment, but this was the least pleasant accommondation we have ever stayed in. It would have been a better idea to put up a tent for that night.

We had informed the reception office on our arrival time, but we didn’t get the key when we arrived. They asked us to wait for an hour, and explained that a staff member was sick. After an hour we returned to ask to check in again, but our room was still not ready. Almost two hours after we first arrived we finally got the key, and we got adviced by the receptionist to stick to the check-out times to avoid these kinds of delays! Overall the customer service wasn’t too pleasant.

The room itself had an amazing view to the sea, and there was everything we needed for simple cooking and one night’s rest. However the room had a very unpleasant fishy smell, and a poor isolation, so we were staying up as long as our noisy neighbours. 

The central fire alarm went on in the middle of the night. There was no communocation about the issue, but a receptionist came to turn the alarm off after approx. 20 minutes. 

All in all, Kabelvåg is a charming place, but this may not be the most enjoyable accommondation for your stay at this price range.
