Gulating Hotel

Firstly I must advise that I never actually stayed here and I write for different reasons. We arrived in Norway by sailing boat late one evening in July with out an engine. We needed to find a marina suitable to land without an engine. Eivindik was selected as the best and the nearest. We rang the number supplied and was put through to Peter who worked in the Eivindvik hotel. It was late in the evening and he gave us directions how to get to the marina. He put us in touch with the search and rescue teams in case we needed assistance. He actually came out looking for us on the hotel RIB to assist but was unable to find us. We arrived safely in the early hours the next morning and he helped us find a mechanic and get the boat repaired and liased with the boatyard on our behalf. This was a life saving service to us and we are forever in Peter's debt! Now, as for what we saw of the hotel; it is a small family affair with a good menu and a veranda looking out over the marina and water. The beer was good and we found the place very relaxing. If the service we received is anything to go by this a great hotel in a wonderful part of Norway. Thank you Peter!
