Jan provides fabulous meals , is very helpful & friendly. A quiet location , in a small village 71 deg north for the traveller who appreciates remote places with fresh air / piece and nature ! Nice dining area with bar with a superb view of the open Barent's sea in the cafe. Jan is also very knowledgable and great in advsing , assisting with tour / trip information , car / snowmobile assitance. He has made my stay in Gamvik fantastic , personally took me around by car and arranged for me to take part in a king crab fishing expedition on one day and snow mobile trip in the mountains on another day including a visit to the Slettnes lighthouse. He provided me with winter gear , including a wind proof suit , boots , a ski mask and a helmet. He can take care of transfers from Mehamn airport & other neighbouring places. Even saw the northern lights from my room. All rooms have good heating & huge windows. All this at a reasonable cost and with genuine welfare of guests.
