Choosing Løkken Fjellgård will afford you the experience of staying at an authentic Norwegian mountain farm from the 1750s. While enjoying the charm of traditional old buildings, you'll still have comfortable beds, your own bathroom and even flat screen TV and WiFi. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing, with a gorgeous view over Rondane mountains. The family who runs the place are kind and nice, and excellent cooks too. This place gives you a lot of nice experience for the money.

Unbelivable location with fantastic view of the great mountains! Amazing rooms with lots of historical and rural splenderness! A heartfelt compliment to the owners! Well worth both your time and money, really something to recommend!

After a long days riding on our bikes we made it up the gravel road to Lokken Fjellgard. Greeted with amazing views, a warm smile and warm grass roof covered log cabins. We felt like we had made it to the Norway of old. 

Things got a whole lot better when our host, Mehran, explained that we could eat at the lodge (we thought we would have to go out to the village, 10 minutes ride away, for dinner). Mehran is the host and also a great chef. The wine list was good, and for Norway, very reasonably priced. 

Mehran lives with his wife, two kids, all the farm animals (chickens, ducks, pigs, goats...etc) and a pack of sled dogs. In many ways you feel like you are at a friends holiday house.

It was the most unique and traditional place we stayed at while travelling through Norway. Thoroughly recommend it.

A dinner with workcolleagues . All had tenderloin schnitzel which was served with a nice pepper sauce and  german-style vegetables. 

The wait was a bit long but it was totally worth it!

The rest of the party seemed pleased with their meal aswell.

First a friendly welcome then a very fast wifi and credit card payment (nice surprise in such a remote setting). The cabin was cosy and warm, great views from the parking towards Rondane. But careful, the cabin had low doors, tall people beware. Parking is on the other side of the road and cleaning/linen are extras, but that's true for all accommodation in Norway. The main issue was the noisy poultry in the morning that will definitely wake you up.
