It was an amazing stay. Everything was clean, the room and the common area were comfy and the breakfast was really delicious. But to be honest, the best thing about my stay was the host. So friendly and warm, very helpful and obliging. I felt so comfortable the whole time and could explore the stunning nature around the accomodation.

Amazing stay!

I stayed here as a friend, and I drove through Norway back from hiking in the nearby Jotunheimen National Park. We stayed in a 2 twin bed bedroom that had a sink. Toilets and showers were right nearby and were private (single user at a time). Bathroo.s were basic but modern and very clean. Everything was very clean, actually. While the bedrooms were basic, they were quite adequate for the purpose. I liked the availability of comfortable public spaces (living room and upper balcony). The best part was dinner;  it was the quality of a fine restaurant (mushroom soup, salmon, and grilled vegetables) - easily the best meal I had in 2 weeks in Norway. You can tell the owner takes great pride in food preparation and, overall, in providing a pleasant stay for hotel guests. 

Great stop between Oslo and Bergen, and near hiking areas

I stayed 4 nights in an apartment with my boyfriend and we loved everything about this place. The apartment was clean, spacious, had all necessities. The beds were comfortable and we slept great! In addition - not only the hosts Rob and Betty are great, helpful and offering a warm welcome, but the whole vibe around the place is great. It is peaceful, quiet area, with a lot to do around - go moose watching, mountain biking, trekking, swimming, fishing. I can highly recommend this place!

Just right!

Very conveniently situated, easy to find, quiet, very comfortable {albeit small) bedroom. 2 shared bathrooms and 3 shared toilets, but that didn’t present any difficulties despite the guest house being fully booked. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, Rob and Betty, and an absolutely superb breakfast. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Lovely property, co venue to location, superb breakfast.

Our daughter's wedding was set at Furulund Pensjonat. The ceremony was in the garden - a beautiful setting. The 3 course meal, prepared by Rob and served by Betty was delicious and fresh and beautifully presented. Later in the evening we had cake and coffee, then music and dancing, and yummy vegetable soup a couple hours later.  Guests from the USA, the UK and Norway occupied the entire pensjonat for 2 nights - a Friday and a Saturday. Rob prepared a pasta dish and fresh green salad Friday night for our guests as they arrived throughout the evening. Homemade bread and jams for breakfast were greatly appreciated. The premises were immaculately clean and the garden well-tended. The beds are very comfortable. A lot of the original features and old furnishings of the building have been lovingly preserved and brought into service to create a charming and unique enivironment.
Betty and Rob are superb hosts, welcoming and friendly and so helpful to all of us. We greatly appreciate their hard work and all the effort they put into making the weekend memorable for all of us.  We had a wonderful weekend and experienced a perfect wedding day for our daughter and her husband. Thank you Rob and Betty! We'll be back.

Wedding weekend

We stayed at this guest house for two nights and thought it was incredibly charming place to stay. 

It was very easy to find as there are signs and the place is clearly marked on google maps. The building itself has about 117 year long history being a guesthouse and Rob and Betty (the couple who are now running the place) have kept many traditional elements intact, while still making it feel modern and comfortable. 

The room we had wasn't the largest, but it felt cosy and airy. The beds were really comfortable to sleep in and we had The facilities (two shower-rooms and separate toilets for men and women) are shared between the guesthouse's 8 rooms, but seem to have been recently renovated and was very clean. It gave me a feeling of being back at folkehøyskole. 

The owners Rob and Betty seem to be running the place amazingly well and manage to meet their guests needs and expectations. We came a bit late and had to leave quite early, and Betty was very helpful and accommodative. Overall we would warmly recommend Furulund Pensjonat to anyone wanting an old-school Norwegian guesthouse experience surrounded by beautiful Norwegian countryside scenery.
