Vandrerhjem Lofotferie Kabelvåg

We got a private tiny red house which was very cozy and in a great location directly at the sea. We liked the thought that we dtay in a small fisher‘s hut :) generally it was clean and we had great opportunity to see the northern lights.

We stayed 3 nights in this accomodation. We must say: it was the best of out trip lasting a month!
The appartment had all what you need. No breakfast served.
The location and the view is perfect!
Kabelvag is a small but surprisingly active village.
A place to sit and eat near the water would be an inmprovement.

Nice accomodation and excellent view over the sea! Facilities were modern, clean and spacious, though more seats in the kitchen would be good! Rooms are not big but very comfortable. Good money for what you get. Plus, the location is also really good!

What a wonderful place and a great way to use the space that would otherwise stand empty! Proceeds (at least in part) go to the school. You can also see the students' artwork on the walls.

We had two plain one-bed rooms and the use of common bathrooms and showers. Everything was super clean, sheets and towels white and crisp. It was quiet - the majority of the guests are of quite mature age (an American here upon hearing the word "hostel" envisions teenagers and penniless college students). Let me put it this way: the vast majority of the guests had greying hair 😉

Breakfast is included, and was tasty and plentiful.

We were upgraded from room to an apartment which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bed a bit small but couch could be used as a bed. Mitch had enough equipment for you to cook if needed. Bathroom large.

I am very happy with the accommodation. Comfy bed, very clean and beautiful location. Easy to find with google maps. The check in and out was smooth, the cabin is well heated. We will definitely book this accommodation again.

We drove to Kabelvåg, and chose to spend the night here due to the rain. "Check-in" is an SMS with info about where you will be staying, the key is left in the door of your room - very easy, which is great. The room is very simple with a (hard) bed, and a sink, a cabinet in the wall (cobwebs and unsturdy), chair and table as well - Basic, but you dont need much more for a night or two. It was clean, which is most important to me.

The view was terrible, not sure if the room would be on the other side if you chose twin beds rather than a double.
There is no sound isolation between the rooms, so if youre a light sleeper i recommend you bring ear plugs.

Simple accommodation

This hostel has a splendid location in the centre of Kabelvåg. The rooms are small, but clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom and WC was clean and had good capacity. It was some noise from the other rooms. It’s free parking in front of the hostel. I recommend this hostel as a budget hostel in Lofoten.

Splendid location to an affordable prize

Staying in a "Rorbua" (old fishermen cabin)  is the best way to make you feel as local people. That' s what we did at Kabelvåg.
Since it is located a bit away from the reception, we were provided with a map which led us near the port the house is facing to.
The two-bed room is tiny but it has a large window and a sink to wash hands; the booking included shared shower and wc and there also was a common kitchen spacious enough to allow guests having their meals.
Outside there' s a nice varanda which we didn't unfortunately take the advantage of as it was too cold.
However we won't forget that village as we've been offered with amazing northern lights appearing in all directions!
We would suggest you to access Lofoten cathedral, an occre wooden building, by walking through the village and its surroundings.
Please do not miss Lofotr Akvariet (Lofoten Aquarium), a complex close to the sea which architecture is inspired on fishermen houses.  It is a very informative and lively place where you will see the main Artic species. If you are lucky, you can even watch otters and seals being fed and playing in two separate ponds.

Facing sea and mountain

Need to call upon arrival.  It's a bit confusing where to go since they have three types of accomodations.  They  There are two WCs and two separate shower rooms.  Kitchen is ok.  It could use more cooking implements..  The location is nice and scenic.
