Nothing is too much trouble for the Nordheims; Wendy (originally from England and a Everton supporter) and Per her husband have run this wonderful Mountain Lodge Hotel for over a decade (Fjellstue means Mountain Lodge Hotel in Norwegian) and is ideally located for a visit to The Jotunheimen National Park which is a popular area for hiking; the Park is where Galdhøpiggen is located, which is Norway's highest peak. There is a small fee to enter the Park, but believe me it is worth the 75 NOK (£6 ish) as the views are truly magical! Remember to take a camera. Whether it’s the mountain fresh air or the quietness and tranquility, a stay at the Norheim Fjellstue will allow you to have a great night’s sleep and to start the day with a full delicious Norwegian breakfast (the best waffles I have ever tasted). Well worth a visit if you are in the Ål area.
