Words can't express my good experience in the hotel. it was really amazing. The food is fantastic but not cheap. The rooms are spacious and the bed is cool. Staffs are well trained and friendly. i had a nice time at the hotel...

I moved into this facility several years ago for work. Considering Nigerian standards, the advice. Good staff, clean enough rooms and decent food. Compared to other snuck hotels it's more than decent.

Average

I have stayed here at least seven times within the last three years. The hotel enjoyed its best days in the past in terms of the quality of its facilities.  However the management seem to have woken up to the need to act. New coats of paints on the walls and delicious meals served as Sunday- Brunch were among the highlights of my recent stay. However, much still needs to be done to uplift this 6-storey facility.

Trying To Regain Old Glory

Big, clean room and bathroom but not a 3* in Europe. Swimming pool and fitness not very well maintained. Good restaurant with no more, not much choice. Breakfast is Nigerian. Friendly reception.

Hotel OK

I stayed in this hotel for over 6 weeks while working on a project. 

Low points
1) The white bed sheets have holes and permanent stains. At first, I thought the cleaners were not changing the bedding so i stained a sheet on purpose. By the time i returned from work, it had been changed but there were still stains.
2) Towels are whitish and have permanent rust stains. Once a week, you get a really clean towel
3) Food is generally below average (both in taste and hygiene). People from this part of Nigeria are usually good cooks so i do not understand why this hotel is different. 
4) Electronics don't work in every room so check your fridge, kettle and hair dryer once you check in.

High points
1) Some staff make the hassle worthwhile as their manners are impeccable.
2) Their "ora soup" is a must-have.
3) There's a complimentary bottle of water each day. Nice touch. 
4) The pool is a nice cosy size.
5) Beds are a nice size.

My advice: 
1) Bring your own bedding along
2) Don't stay in the hotel for more than a week. The staff become too familiar and stop taking you serious.
3) Avoid the egg sauce and vegetable sauce. They always have shells and sand as ingredients

lovely environment,good security, the chefs meal is something you don't want to miss out,universal hotel is a place to relax &  loosen your self to enjoy a perfect hols.it's the best so far in the town(enugu)

It was like every detail about me was known to staff before my arrival. From check in to check out, the guys there were on point treating me like a celebrity. Wow. The chef's attention to detail during the Sunday lunch buffet was impressive.  The guys running this place sure do know about hospitality.  Will stay there anytime I am in Enugu.
