The location of the hotel is quiet and serene. The hotel itself is nice. Food was good and the staff were friendly. The swimming pool is small but nice and clean. There's a gym, which needs an upgrade, but then perhaps the hotel doesn't get too much patrons needing those facility.

The room is nice and cozy. Air-conditioning works well. Bathroom was okay. I had a problem with the shower in my room, but it was fixed when I mentioned it to Front Desk. 

I do believe the hotel has potential to be well ahead of its present state. It's a place I definitely will visit again.

ABOVE AVERAGE... WITH GREAT POTENTIAL

Let me start with the positives. The rooms are spacious. Nice serene environment close to major artery roads in calabar. Swimming pool, though small, is clean and we'll maintained. Gym available. Staff friendly and security is available. Then the negatives: let me start by saying that this hotel needs just a little more effort to be better, however, it doesn't strive to achieve that. Most of the negatives need just a bit to be positive. Eg, the Wi-Fi. It is available but comes off and on, strong then weak. Then in the bathroom, the toilet occasionally emits some odour. Experienced water leakage from the ceiling (right onto my food). Very early in the morning when the lights go off, the generator is not started till around 7am. Complimentary breakfast is a joke. Price of food is too high and parking space is very limited. Could be better, could be better.

This location is quiet - tucked away from the busy MCC road.  But that's about all the USP I could decipher.  The reception is extremely noisy with some young men and women practically rehearsing jazz music all day and night.

The music at the reception which is supposed to serenade the surroundings, is so loud you can't get anything done.  I sat at a meeting with a Commissioner at the reception and we couldn't hear each other.  Not even after we appealed severally for the volume to be turned down.  They had their way.

The rooms were neat, but the toilet needed some renovation.  

This is a potentially very good hotel, but requires some attention to detail to bring out the best in it.

And the bloated feeling safety surprised me as the windows had now iron protection to them.  Maybe I'm paranoid, but looking through that window watching the very close by fence that had nothing on it, I felt a bit uncomfortable.  But I hear Calabar is safe though.

What's Your USP?

I totally enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are cosy and well furnished, and the restaurant features a great menu choc-full of national (especially the local) and continental cuisines. Slight down-side, the indoor pool is smaller than one would like, but still large enough to allow you swim comfortably. Secondly, the gym could use an upgrade. On the whole, i'd recommend this place for a weekend get-away or for when you need to work in a quiet and peaceful environment.

Cosy place, great rooms, the spa functions!!!!

Always a nice feeling each time. It's like a home for me. The food is great, both the local and intercontinental dishes are a delight. The environment is very neat. Location is easily accessible. I will recommend to anyone travelling to experience it.

Business

Rooms and services are good, i encourage you to give it a try. Had few friends come over, when i checked them into their rooms, they totally feel in love with the place. If your looking for a quite place, then 520 is the right place.
