The hotel is surprisingly dirty. The lobby looks fine but when you get to the room floors, the carpets are heavily soiled.  There have been no updates to the ceilings which are crusty, and walls. Don't  use the stairs if you don't want to throw up.  The carpet over the stairs has never been swept in the last 20 yrs it seems, and the stains on the walls are disgusting.  I took pictures since it was the dirtiest hotel area I have seen, even traveling all over Africa where villages lodgings are cleaner than this. From its heights of 4 stars a million years ago, I would say that this is at worst a 1 star hotel and at best a 2 star hotel. Internet is spotty and some nights was unavailable -- as I was here for business, this was a problem.  The two saving graces are that the room was okay as was the dinner. The hot water worked in the tub even though it didn't in the sink, the bedsheets were clean, the towels smelt fresh and the TV and AC worked.  So, at the basic level it works if you can close your eyes to the rest and if you are on a budget. The breakfast was boring but plentiful and the dinner buffets seemed adequate though there were copious amount of food for the few people that frequented the dinner causing me to wonder what they did with all the food left over- hopefully not recycled again.  I used this hotel because my company rated this hotel as relatively secure -with armed guards all over, and baggage x-rays at the door.  Next time I will find a better option.

Dirty and Dated with some saving points

This is a horrible property. It appears to have never been renovated and is in disrepair. I don't know what special lens they used to take the pictures on the website. It looks nothing like the pics. The rooms are not clean and smell. The floor of the bathroom appears to have never been mopped. I stayed for 3 miserable weeks and never had hot water or A/C. I was finally able to get a fan in my room. No smoking is not enforced so cigarette smoke is pulled into the cooling system that blows warm air and distributed to the rooms. WiFi is worthless. The elevator malfunctions on a near-daily basis. The TV in my room belongs in the Smithsonian Institute. The 3 channels in French had so much snow on the screen the picture was barely visible. All of these issues were brought to the attention of the front desk and I was assured they would be corrected. None of them improved. Please finish the new Raddison Blu hotel ASAP!

2nd Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at

The Hotel is in a very poor condition. It is desperately in need of a restoration. The first day we didn't have any Wifi at all. We had to use our data plans and it cost us a lot of money. The receptionist was repeatedly telling us to restart our phones and that it will take some hours for the phone to adopt to the wifi connection etc...some totally nonsense advice.

When we arrived the shower in my room was not working and I had to change to another room in the middle of night...The breakfast was basic.. The rooms and furniture and everything in the hotel is very old. 
I saw some ongoing hotel constructions in the city and they said they will finish this summer. When they open this hotel would go bankrupt I am certain of that.

No Wifi - Shower malfunction

Very old hotel, rooms are not clean and smelly.
Wouldn't risk going into the pool, its not clean at all.
No much varieties in breakfast, omelette is horrible couldn't eat it  
I didn't have any other option, Solux was fully booked.

Old is Not Gold

there are no words to describe this tacky run down hotel but then not much choice in Niamey other than the Soluxe so if its full then this is as good as it comes.  Getting internet access or hot water is like wining the lottery.  If you have breakfast make sure you are there the first as once it finishes it is finished.

if there was a -5 rating i would give it

old, dirty, unsafe. it is everything that makes a bad hotel a bad one! it is indeed a 1* max as previously reviewed by someone. I was so disappointed and will never go back.
rooms at check-in are untidy, noisy a/c, dirty with blood stains everywhere (oh yes), i prefer not to describe the status of the wc... the staff has an arrogant approach towards the customer and this is to mention a few...
