We LOVED this hostel - great vibe for travellers and we were made to feel very welcome - Tom was an amazing host as were all the other staff.
Great location and free shuttle - and we did the organised surf trips and beach party and these were amazing

Hola Ola is really a home away from home. Fantastic location, easily walkable from town to the Jesus Statue with frequent shuttle service. The staff, volunteers and owner are all wonderfully accommodating and really make you feel safe and secure. A wealth of fun social activities, perfectly tailored surf lessons and the pool is a perfect breather between excursions. Their comfort, friendliness and security is unparalleled. Lifelong friendships are there to be made through their activities, bonfire nights and surf trips. For any type of traveller, a stay at Hola Ola will definitely enhance and deepen your travel experience. And don't get me started on the precious guardian dog Ola.

This place is an awesome place to meet people and chill. It has a wide range of activities that cater to everyone's preferences. It offers a shuttle between the property and the town which is perfect as it's tranquil at night.

Hola Ola is a really nice hostel. It’s good when you’re traveling alone and want to meet people. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they organize a lot of activities. The rooms are clean. They also have a pool which is really nice to cool off.

We were a group of 5 travelling to Hola Ola ! Staff is great and super helpful. Rooms are comfy and clean. We were travelling in May and it was not too warm in the room without AC. Food is delicious. Hostel is near the beach! Overall great experience!

Stayed a week in Hola ola and e really enjoyed my stay! Staff is really nice, they have daily beach shuttle and daily activities. Staff is fun and super friendly. They provide food and drinks to a reasonable price and the pool is awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay here! We did a four-day surf package, with great instruction from Osman, Jagger, and Christian. The atmosphere at the hostel was really fun, with activities every night. The surf school was great, they really encourage you to make new progress each day, which helps avoid stagnating, and help you have fun. They are really patient, and make an extra effort to help you have fun and progress! It would have been good if the hostel gave us more information when we checked in, as we had to proactively ask questions to find out about stuff like when the surf trips were, what we needed to bring, when meals were, etc. 

Me and my boyfriend stayed a few days in the 4-bed dorm in this lovely hostel. It was a bit more quiet (but I guess also because it is off-season and it has been a though year for Nicaraguan tourism), but the staff is lovely and really involved. 

It is a small 10 minute walk (or free shuttle) to town and there are organized activities (with rides to the beach) every day, such as the sunset fest (beers, rum and games at the beach), family dinner and surfing. Or just stay in and enjoy the pool, terrace with hammocks or have a beer with other backpackers and the lovely staff/volunteers.

The owner is very friendly and does not hesitate to help you with any needs or questions. The hostel is actually his grandparents old vacation home, so there is a lot of interesting family history and nice stories there as well.

All in all a good place to stay for a fair price, focused on backpackers and socializing. Bonus: the great pool view! 

Small note: the kitchen is not really available to cook yourself, however they can cook you a lovely breakfast or dinner for a small price!
