this is a great hotel with very accommodating staff and nice facilities. each room with a private bath and great balcony to look out over the city. the buffet next door has great food and staff to meet your every need.

I have stayed many times in this hotel over the past 5 years. It is a very pleasant experience and the staff is always friendly and accommodating to my needs. This past visit the staff even helped me change a car tire and get the flat fixed.

This friendly place is located on Calle de los Bancos, just 3 blocks from the Cathedral. The street is quite busy, so ask for a room that doesn't face the front. There are many restaurants, bars, shops, banks, and some points of interest close to the hotel. The 24 h security at the door helps to keep the place safe. The interior of the building has a lot of charm. The nice lobby with a reception desk, the terrace on the roof, the commedor next door and friendly service people make this place very attractive for mid-range tourists. The room for 3 persons was quite specious and very clean. We had a private bathroom and fan. The sleep quality was OK (only dogs and church bells made some noise). The hotel receptionist helped us arrange a car and driver ($10/hr) for a side trip to Jinotega, Lago Apanas, Selva Negra and many mirradores. It would be difficult to travel to all these places by local transportation. It took us approx. 5 hours to see the countryside of this coffee region and we covered a lot. Overall this hotel is a good value. I have no problem recommending this place to my friends. Try to see as many rooms as possible before selecting one because each one is different with respect to size, furniture, and location while having a similar rate.

Located in the heart of busy Madagalpa.  This hotel has lots of authentic local food choices available and is close to the Central Town Square.  There are touristy  bars and food options close by and tons of quaint stores in the neighbourhood.

If you are looking to stay in the city with access to the shopping, nightlife and restaurants, this quaint, well-kept hotel will provide you with a good sleep and very good value for your dollar.

Clean hotel in heart of Madagalpa

· The room would have been OK, had it not been for the staff, and the hotel is quiet and comfortable

 · Homophobic evangelical hotel staff/owner trying to keep me from staying in the hotel I reserved. On arrival, we were asked numerous times whether we were sure we wanted a room with one bed. After the 4th or 5th time, I asked if they had a problem with us. They said they didn't. A short time later, after we waited, they mentioned something they had never said previously, that the previous occupants of the room overstayed and that the room was not available. They said they would make another room available (with two beds), and that we would have to pay about $6 more. I refused and insisted that they at least honor the PRICE of the reservation. I argued with three staff members, one of which was verrrry unpleasant (a heavyset older lady who, though she denied it, was probably the owner). I was diplomatic throughout, but I asked them to make a choice - whether I was going to cancel the hotel, leave a horrible review and call booking.com over the incident or whether they were going to make the room available. They finally relented and said that they would remove the (fake, invented) people that were supposedly in the room. On further investigation, we found out that the owners of this hotel are evangelical Christians, and the following night in a lodge in a nearby town, we were told by the owners that the exact same thing had happened at that property to friends of theirs.
If you agree that gay people should be shunned, then by all means, stay at this hotel (by calling them directly, because I'm going to ask insistently that booking.com remove them from the platform). In this way, I will actually be doing the hotel a favor, in that they won't have to accept anymore filthy homosexuals like us. Hopefully this review will help all kinds of people who are against discrimination to make the right choice when reserving a hotel in Matagalpa.

If you're a homophobic bible thumper, this is the place for you.

Tried to go there twice when supposed to be open and no one there to answer the door. Got someone on the phone and said they would be coming but never did... poor communication and false advertising. Poor management!
