I stayed here for about 3 weeks and had an amazing experience. It has a beautiful exterior and interior, with a gorgeous garden area on the inside. Not only that, but the food is delicious and the staff make you feel right at home. The rooms may be a little small, but for the price that you pay and all the other amenities, it is worth it. The staff are very polite and happy, and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. Honestly, my group and I were treated like family. I highly recommend staying here!

Very friendly family run hostal with clean and basic accommodations. We were offered a coffee when we arrived which was nice, and the woman who showed us our room was helpful and spoke English well. There were kids playing in the common area and were very sweet. The room was pretty small but clean, and there was a nice garden. I stayed here for a night in between reservations but I think for a long term stay I would stay somewhere else mostly because I like having a bit more privacy.

Amazing 

We stayed here on our trip through Nicaragua for four nights. 

Pro's:
- centrally located, everything within a walking distance
- very flexible host. we had to change our reservation twice and it was no problem at all
- big common area

Con's: 
- room was very, very small with hardly any space to put stuff
- airing only possible through opened door into the common area
- TV did not work (do not need one, but why place it then? Only took space in the already small room)
- bathroom tolerably clean
- they hand you no key for the front door. This is ok, but several times when we returned to the hostel we had to wait several minutes to call attention on our presence and have the door unlocked. 

The service and breakfast were ok, but nothing special. I did not feel too comfortable there, neither very welcome. For the price (30 USD/night including breakfast) you cold probably do better in Matagalpa.

It is a big hostel that caters to the needs of big groups, however if you need to use any of their services you will need to chase them up as they wont do it any time soon. The rooms are very minimal and the room we stayed in was broken and the bathroom door didn't lock so you had to leave it open. Their are always large groups of students around the building and when we stayed the hostel was a construction site were all the materials were left in the walk ways causing a lot of hazards.

The people there were very friendly. There was a large common area. They served lots of coffee. WiFi was great. It was close to everything.
The rooms were small. It was kinda musty.  Place needs an update. Not many other travelers there. No hot water.
