El Encanto Garden Hotel

We stay here for three nights. The place is very quiet and the hotel managers are really friendly & helpful. Right now (Nov 2022) you can have breakfast there but not other meal. However you they have some restaurants that deliver food there. 

There are also a lot of restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. 

If you are looking for a quit place - this is the perfect spot.

The room was clean and moskito proof. We had a fan in our room.

We spent 3 nights in a large bungalow with a beautiful look at the volcano.you can sit on the terrace and watch the birds and butterflies. The owner is very helpful and gave us 
many useful tips for hikes and other things to do on the island and organized our trip back to the ferry. The restaurant does good breakfast and spicy meals.

Down a long driveway.  Nice cabins.  We opted for the upgraded casita with air conditioning and solar heated hot water.  The casitas have nice decks with views of the gardens and the volcano.  Wifi in the rooms is sketchy but better in the restaurant.
The owner, Carlos, has created a lovely location with flowers and fruit trees to go along with the great views.  He is extremely helpful in arranging tours and he saved us as he was able to get our car onto a fully booked ferry so we could leave the island.  The area is quiet and peaceful.
The restaurant offers the usual Nicaraguan cuisine but adds some nice curries and pest dishes.

Great views from this place and nice and quiet. The long driveway turned out to be a highlight - we saw all sorts of interesting wildlife and something different every time we walked up. Staff were really helpful and no problem at all to organise tours, and ongoing transport. Pretty good location on the island, bike distance to the pools and beach etc. Restaurants within walking distance.

After reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor I was keen to see what this place had to offer. 

El Encanto provides a beautiful property with blooming gardens and amazing views of the volcano. Whilst laying in your hammock you have a high chance of seeing humming birds, magpie jays, eagles and squirrels. 
This place is perfect if you want kick back, and relax in the natural surroundings.

The rooms are basic, but clean. However, there is limited hot water. Note, that there isn’t really any wifi in the rooms unless you’re close to the restaurant.
The reviews say that the insects and other creatures are a massive problem here, which we didn’t find. As long as you keep your door closed and wear repellant after dark, you should be fine! 

The friendly staff at the reception and restaurant have extremely good english and are always willing to help you. They also organise all tours and taxis for you. 
The restaurant is pretty average, serving dishes such as pasta, grilled chicken and rice, curry chicken, and other rice dishes for around $USD 7.50-8.50. Breakfast is on average $4.50-5.50 with coffee or tea included. Other comedores are a 5 minute walk down a dirt road. 

Overall, I loved our stay at El Encanto! 
It was absolutely beautiful! 



Views on volcano Concepcion from the cabins are spectacular. Beautiful gardens. Super friendly and helpful staff. I had a cabin with aircon and hot water shower. Totally worth it! Loved my stay. Have to say, the other cabins had rocking chairs and hammocks... also worth considering! Room was very comfortable, all kinds of bicycle and scooter rental places around the corner, places to eat too. Good location!

We stayed at El Encanto for 4 nights and it was a great place from which to explore the island. It was a treat to have breakfast looking out over the beautiful gardens with the volcano in the distance. Carlos and the two English speaking receptionists were really helpful - booking taxis (commission free) and arranging trips. When we had a couple of hitches with the room and one of the trips we found Carlos to be very helpful and fair in his resolution of them. We found the room comfortable and it was cleaned daily (available on request). We explored the island by scooter and bike - be aware that only half of the island has good roads so getting to some spots can be quite tricky/time consuming to reach. Bikes can be a bit rickety - best have a little road test before you commit to taking them - but they are a good way to get around on the rougher roads.

Beautiful setting, great spot to explore the island, very helpful staff

The lovation is good. You can walk to the beach in few minutes and playa Domingo is a nice walk via the beach. We had one of the best located chalets with beautiful vieuw however this one didn't have the big open window they show on their website. Price however is the same. Only small menu. Food is ok but pricy. Better walk a bit further to have lunch or dinner. We also experienced that the tours they offer are very expensive and they only have Spanish speaking guides. They try to discourage guests to make other tours then the once they offer due to securityreasons but it seems to have only a moneyreason.
