Property is good for the stayers & specially family ad there's plenty of space for kids to play and roam within the property.

I never write reviews but here we go! Green mold on bedding, BLACK MOLD on bedding linner, mattress and shower. Some form of mold/rust in the fridge. Urine stains on bedding, bird poo stains on curtains, not vacuumed, cobwebs everywhere, dirty sink, sleeper couch had some interesting stains on it.....and BAD CUSTOMER SKILLS.
 
So when we started settling in we first only noticed that it wasn't vacuumed and a bit unpleasant but we were fine with it. When we were going to bed we noticed the stains on the bedding and started pulling it of little by little until we found the liner with black mold. When we called him to say we were a bit unhappy with the dirty sheets he got mad ... at us! He said "fine come pick your own linin but there isn't much to pick from". Best thing is we weren't even really upset at this point but when we gently and quietly told him we found all types if mold and we were not happy he yelled and said "no no no". He told us to wait even though we said we just want a refund and we will leave. He put us in another cabin and still not what we asked for as there is 5 of us and only 4 beds. We tool it because he was so mad and not ready to talk. 
When we finally settled in (still finding black mold in shower and some kind if rust and mold in fridge) we noticed that this was THE ONE WE BOOKED IN THE FIRST PLACE! It was not much better but definitely beats moldy bedding and beds. We were so upset that he gave us the wrong worse cabin while he had the good one just sitting there.

Up side to it all is that he had complimentary tea and smelly towels and some toilet paper😊

Awful!

I booked this place about 3 weeks before we due to go. And then a few days before we were going to whitianga campground, I got an email saying that we needed to cancel our booking in the cabin as they want some one for that room for longer. They offered a different room but when I went to book that one he said nah it's not available now, you need to pay more and stay in a different room or stay longer.
I have never had this type of  service anywhere. He literally didnt give a sh*t he had just ruined our holiday, it was me my 4 yr old and partner, and then had to explain to her we couldn't go anymore.

He then charged me $15 to cancel the booking which he automatically took from the cancellation and said he would refund and never did!!! This is literally day light robbery.

This is the most disgusting narrsacist service I think I have ever encountered.

There is a much nice campground there I have stayed at before which I will go to again.

I will never even try booking here again.

Ruined and cancelled our holiday

We were a group of 6, 3 couples. The first two couples arrived and explained that we were staying for 2 nights. That should be a total of $40 a night. He said our total for the two nights was $40. This caused confusion, which we questioned and he said that it is $20 a night which we knew. It was his own mistake undercharging us, but we did try and explain that we are staying for 2 NIGHTS!! He then approached our group rudely saying we had not paid which caused more confusion as we had explained clearly we are here for two nights. We were not a group that was trying to avoid paying, however if the owner undercharges us, that is not our fault and we were happy to sort the issue however we were approached by Grant the owner with a rude attitude. He seems to have an issue with women as he directly approached the girls with this negative attitude and when the boys in the group would approach him, he did not have an issue. I would recommend finding another camp ground if you are in Whitianga.

So bad!!!!!

The unit we stayed needed to do big maintenance starting from Bathroom and finishing windows (shower was leaking, it was hard to close windows) and couple of fans in the unit would be great as it was very hot and kids could not sleep at all. so was not quite enjoyable stay.

Friendly quiet atmosphere, well presented cabin, and grounds were well kept.

What an awesome two weeks. My partner and I stayed here for two weeks, the most welcoming lovely friendly staff always there for us what ever the need.
Nice peaceful amazing clean place for a get away. 
Will definitely be going back.

Amazing

Booked the campsite with a big discussion on how we needed a large site. Arrived and it took us at least 30 mins to sort our our site. 1 token each for shower was extremely stingy I thought. I would expect 1 token included per night. Then we went to the summer concert and arrived back at 10.30 to locked gates. Apparently it was on the sign by the gate...considering we weren't even shown where the toilets were, not surprising we didn't know other rules on signs!! Won't be back

if you like to wake up itchy and also with cockroaches running over you,then this is the place for you. old dated extremely run down and very dirty. and some what creepy.  not enough kitchen facilities. repair work around the place is really rough. curtains hanging of rack with fly poop. need tokens for 4minit showers. alot of work needs to be done to bring up to standards especially for the price. junk laying around everywhere. But  on the plus side, i think my vaccinations are up to date!
