We thoroughly enjoyed a 3 day visit to Tongariro NP and stayed in this wonderful historic hotel. The weather was less than cooperative but we still managed to get a nice 2 hour hike to Taranaki Falls. We spent much of our time enjoying the amenities in the hotel. Chilling in the lounge, high tea, the pool table and the laundry facility were all great amenities. They also have a movie room and a play area on the lower floor for the kiddies. Our only complaint was the wifi which often kicked us out and/or wouldn’t let us back on. The food was pretty good too, but it’s mostly buffet.
