Rive Gauche B&B Lodge

Had an amazing few days away in Taupo at Rive Gauche, a very peaceful b&b in a beautiful setting which made for a relaxing stay. The garden room with self catering facilities was very clean and stylish with lovely views of the vineyard. Lynne and Jim are very welcoming hosts and look after guests really well. Central Taupo is a short drive away as are Huka Falls or you can do a lovely  walk to the falls from the property. This is our second stay here and we will definitely return when we holiday in Taupo again.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.  Stylish accommodation in a beautiful setting, and the most perfect  of hosts.   Lynne and Jim run a small vineyard on the property.  Reminded  us of holidays in France.   We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  Highly recommended !

This is a lovely and peaceful b&b in a secluded spot near Huka Falls. We were welcomed with afternoon tea to this stylish purpose built lodge.  Jim and Lynne are extremely well travelled hosts, so know  how to make their guests very welcome.  Decor is smart and the rooms are well fitted out. Breakfast was good,and overall this b&b was exactly what you hope for when you make a booking.

Lynne and Jim are the most welcoming of hosts. Their property, complete with its own vineyard in the back yard, is an architectural wonder that combines a very comfortable, modern design with ample touches of rural France, their second home.  The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and the place is absolutely spotless. A very highly recommend!

Lynne & Jim are charming, relaxed and welcoming hosts. On arrival we were lucky enough to be offered a chilled glass of their 2015 Pinot Gris (Rive Gauche) vintage from the vines in their garden. A delicious start to our stay. 
Our room was spacious and quiet with a lovely view over the vineyard. With blackout blinds and a large comfortable bed a good night’s sleep was had, ready for the sights and delights of Lake Taupo the next morning. A gentle stroll through their back garden to the Redwood forest and a path to the Huka Falls is a must. Highly recommended.

Lynne and Jim will make you feel very welcome. Everything about the B&B is first class - the room, the food, the great location. Our hosts were very knowledgeable and a font of wisdom for things to do and see. Taupo is a wonderful place and this was a great place to stay. 

Do not hesitate to book a visit to Rive Gauche where you will receive a warm welcome and so much more. The owners Jim and Lynne are delightful and happy to pass on copious helpful information. You can walk to Huka Falls from the house though, in heat, take water as it’s a fair 40 minute hike but very very worthwhile. We were very fortunate to share the Rive Gauche wine in the evening and the breakfast was beautifully presented. The room was spotlessly clean and there really isn’t anything not to like ! We’d like to say a special thank you to Lynne and Jim for making our very short visit such a special memory

This is the perfect place to relax. Beautiful house and location surrounded by nature. Rooms with views to the river and its own vineyard. You can walk to the Huka falls, 30 mins along the river. Just 5 minutes by car from Taupo's town centre but away from the crowds. We loved our stay here. The hosts do their best to accommodate your needs and will help you with advice and recommendations, even booked restaurants for us. The location is also great because is on the way to famous hot springs and volcanic parks, less crowded than the ones in Rotorua. Good quality amenities.

We had a fantastic stay of 5 nights with Lynne and Jim, travelling as a family of three for a milestone birthday. When we pulled up after our drive from Auckland, we immediately felt at home when Lynne warmly welcomed us at the front door. We then shared afternoon tea with our hosts, complete with Lynne's home-made orange cake (very yummy and Lynne gave us the recipe later - Gisborne oranges seem to be the secret!).  

The house is lovely with carefully chosen design features, a beautiful garden and boutique vineyard, and Lynne and Jim are warm and engaging hosts. The B&B rooms are spacious and are in a separate wing of the house so privacy is assured, and there's also a lounge where you can read or watch Sky TV if you like. 

Breakfasts are fantastic with all home prepared fare and it was lovely to meet fellow guests from Switzerland and we enjoyed plenty of breakfast banter, with Lynne and Jim joining in too.

This is a 5 star B&B - great quiet location with leafy grounds and only a short drive into Taupo for restaurants, cafes and shops. Tongariro National Park isn't too far away and we enjoyed walking in mountains on one of our days. Rotorua's just up the road and Lynne has heaps of advice about things to see and do locally and further afield.

This was our Taupo home away from home - who could ask for more?

Luxurious B&B, very comfortable, welcoming hosts, great breakfast. Lynne suggested a  restaurant for dinner and made the booking for us, an enormous help as it was Ironman weekend and the town was packed.

Rive Gauche B&B was the perfect choice for our family.
Lynne and Jim run the place and make you feel at home.
They’ve been great host, helping us with our fishing tour booking as well as many 
recommendations for places to visit and activities to do in the region.
Breakfast was extraordinary.
The Pinot Gris produced in their own vineyard was really good, and tasted even better during sunset overlooking their property.
The place is really close to Taupo, in a quiet and beautiful area.
It exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic B&B, felt like home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rive Gauche. Lynne and Jim were very welcoming hosts who made us feel comfortable at all times. They were more than happy to provide advice regarding activities and restaurants in the area. We enjoyed sampling their wine, and even brought a bottle back home. The accommodation is tastefully designed and located in a beautiful part of Taupo. We stayed here for four nights though could have easily stayed longer. If we return to Taupo we'll be sure to stay here again.

Fantastic stay

Everything that makes a great B & B stay, beautiful home and garden, large lounge with fire place to relax, complimentary wine and cheese with Lynne & Jim, tasting their own wine from their vineyard (beautiful wine) Separate bedroom wing for privacy including own well appointed Kitchenette/Ensuites. Lovely breakfast, great hosts. Would stay again without hesitation.
