Great stay - great communication from staff - very friendly and helpful

Great accommodation, everything you need.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment style room with full kitchen, dining area and bath on the third floor. We were welcomed and had a nice chat while checking in. Room was clean and comfortable and appreciated the full kitchen for in room dining. While the hotel is located on a busy street we did not notice any major noise to speak of. While not in the downtown business district the hotel is super convenient to walk through the park to Marine Parade for possible blue penguin sitings.

Excellent and helpful owner.  Very well located and clean with everything a guest could need.  Only could use better floor sound insulation and the nearby intersection was busy - double glazed windows made it very fine for sleeping.

Upon arrival Sandra check us in real fast,  gave us good advice where to see penguins.  Super friendly and helpful. Checking out also fast and easy

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the host who gave us some amazing tips for exploring the area and surrounds. Without her advice we wouldn’t have taken the route we did.

What a beautiful Motel with a gorgeous view from our 3rd floor balcony.  The beds were very comfortable. Would most definitely stay again!!

The hotel was amazing. Close to everything, the manager gave great advice on dinner, sight seeing, how to see the blue penguins. Clean, well equipped room with a great view of the water. Highly recommend

Location Convenient for Blue Penguin Viewing

Stayed here several times over a few months, excellent location. Very friendly hosts, clean rooms with great amenities. 
Would highly recommend whether staying for business, or pleasure.
Home away from home with options to suit all from spacious 2 bedroom apartments to executive rooms, something for everyone.

I am a light sleeper and had requested a quiet room. What I got was a beautiful one, away from the road with an awesome bed, a perfectly quiet aircon and a cool spa bath tub. Without having to ask, Leah came out in the morning with a jug of water to de-ice our windscreen. I truly appreciated the stay and I will be back! Thank you!

Quiet, comfortable accommodation with caring hosts

Host was excellent 
At the time I booked (with short notice) I could only get two nights when I needed 4 due to all of Timaru booked out months prior.
However after talking with staff to try and get extra nights, within 24 hours the motel contacted me to see if I had found any accommodation and offered me an extra night due to a cancellation.
I believe many other accommodation providers would not have bothered to try and contact me.
This is great customer service

Great location, wonderful hosts, excellent rooms.

We usually stay at another motel in Timaru, they were full and they recommended this one. The communications, the facilities, in the location as mentioned excellent, answers the helpfulness of the team here also. Nice quiet rooms with the air conditioning would happily stay again.

Great location and facilities

A friend and I were doing a 2 week road trip  around the South Island, just finding accommodation when we arrived in a town. Bay Viaduct was one of our favourites. The lady on reception was ever so friendly and helpful. Our 2 bedroom unit was large and everything we could want was provided. Beds were super comfy and there was also a connecting door which would cater for a larger family.

Gem in Timaru

  The Bay Viaduct is always our favourite place to stay every New Year. It is just a couple of minutes walk from the Caroline Bay Carnival and a good choice of restaurants. Sitting on our private balcony, seeing in the New Year while watching the spectacular fireworks display with a bottle of bubbly.  Just perfect.

New Year break

The welcome at reception was very friendly and knowledgeable. 
We were advised about some fantastic Thai restaurants in town and on our check out we were further pointed towards one of the best cafes in New Zealand.  The wrinkly rams in Omarama was fantastic. Thank you again. 
The stay at Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge was perfect.

Follow the advise of the locals

We arrived early and were able to access the room straight away.  It was on the 3rd floor with no lift but had been told that when I booked.  The climb up the stairs was well worth the effort.  We had a lovely bright room with a small veranda & views over the harbour.  The hotel is in easy walking distance to the town.

This room was well equipped  from its kitchen area to the bathroom. The shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. The lounge suite was relaxing. We had a small view of the Bay due to asking for a ground floor room. We had a quiet sleep in the back facing bedroom. A most comfortable stay. Thank you.
